I think that I had a couple of reviews that were flagged quite a while back, but they were legit reviews of the products that I had, one was about a pair of Burton leather gore gloves (Black) that bled onto my white jacket, anyway I believe I had some spelling mistakes in the review & was unfairly flagged. I think the reviews need to be looked at closely before being flagged. What do you think?

I took a look at your reviews, even the one you brought up above. As mentioned by ctoma and derby, read the thread regarding how to write proper product reviews. Your spammed reviews as well as many of your currently rewarded reviews leave much to be desired. 1-2 liners are insufficient. You need to describe in better detail your experiences and objective opinions about the product so that an uninformed shopper can make an educated decision before making the purchase. Take a look at Ippolite's reviews if you'd like some great examples:

while the glove review might've been legit.... it was still lacking in info....
all it said was that the gloves were awesome and that the color bled..... now, do you really reel like that is a quality review???? personally i dont, and therefore I dont see how/why it should be unflagged.... oh and there are also SEVERAL of your other reviews that are quite questionable as well.... Im surprised that they havent also been flagged...

dude, your reviews are rather terrible im afraid. We really dont need any more poor reviews. Good luck getting them reinstated, i can find another five or so id flag right after. Ill let you keep those five though because it seems mean to knack you for all of them after youve been locked out. But come on? Seriously?
PS. Im not trying to single you out, but no one gets sympathy for reviews. Either do them properly or dont bother.

I said that they were questionable.... but in all reality they are really quite poorly written! the biggest problem though is that they dont contain any valid, useful info. I also think that you'll have a fairly tough time getting them unflagged.

Brand reviews are the problem. Always have been the problem IMO. Too hard to detect, too hard to get rid of the bs BR's, and a perfect breeding ground for point "whoring". Idea? Blast down the entire brand review system. Get rid of it all together. From comments of mods/expert members it seems it might be easier to have a programmer just remove BR's all together from the site EDIT: Well, it looks like DTJ (and maybe others?) have done a fantastic job with stripping her of BR points. 519 review points taken away, and for that I commend all of you that still come on here and give a shit. But looking at her profile, it seems yesterday she did at least 5 BR's. Are BR's not linked to the review spam count? Wouldn't it be easier to just delete that account? It is obvious that she is just here for points and is doing a fantastic job at exploiting the point system. Ultimately troutdoors has the right to do what they like with any profile. So....just delete the user profile instead of having expert members and mods waste loads of time (from the sound of it) singling out each and every BR. Although, I guess the real problem is the lack of people that actually spend time here that have that kind of power, eh? Bleh. |

^ Yeah, I think DTJ's recommendation would be more fair to those who actually took their time to write meaningful brand reviews.
I found out a relatively faster way to flag brand reviews, FWIW. Have two tabs open. First tab has all the brand reviews listed for the offender. Second tab you use for navigating through the website. So if he/she has a bs brand review for Merrell... instead of having to find the brand in the various categories, I just type Merrell in the search bar. I click on the first Merrell product that comes up. At the top left of the page, you'll see: I then click on "Merrell" just before the actual product and that brings me to the brand review page for Merrell. Then you find her review and flag it. It's still a bit cumbersome, but at least you don't have to hunt for brands through the brands tab. I was able to flag a lot faster this way. I PM'ed her to ask her why she would so it again after we already caught her the first time. We'll see how she responds. EDIT: OMG, she's back up again to 400 points from brand reviews! 3 strikes and you're out, that deserves a ban from the community, in my opinion.
