It all depends.. Where are you surfing in HI? I take it its not your first time? I surf mostly south shore now(due to work) West and North when time permits... Yes its an Island. and yes we do get lazy about driving 30 miles ![]() |

Anyone have or try stand up paddle boarding?
Was thinking about renting one to check it out on the river and lake tahoe in the summer. You have any favorite boards?

Beat up long boards can still be expensive. I paid $60-70 for mine. I figured anything is hellava lot better than paying $20 for rentals each time. |

60 - 70 bucks isn't that expensive. Here in San Diego you pay 100 bucks for anything that floats. It's nutty.

what i used to do was buy beat up boards for 50 dollars and i knew how to fix them so i would just patch them up and ride them. just learn how to do repairs it is extremely useful.

Nice, get your wetsuit ready. It's chilly - brrrr. But the surf has been pretty decent all over SoCal.

Oh yeah $60-70 was a steal for a brand new foamie I think. And thats where I got mine, from SD =p. When i went to pick it up, I had my trunk half open since I had a passenger. Didn't quite trust the soft top roof rack on the 2 hour drive. |

Surfing in FL is a joke! Sebastian Inlet just had a Hurley sponsored Amatures event and the waves were 3 feet max. Its nothing like the west coast surf. Ive lived in FL my whole life and decided to pick up wakeboarding over surfing. Id rather wakesurf then ride the measley east coast surf!

Surfing in FL makes you a better surfer. If you can take a knee high mushball and work it into a ride, you will be able to generate speed on anything.

Mate, I've been using soft racks for years and they are the bomb. Never had a problem with them! Well, except for when it rains lol, they leak pretty bad!
