His stunt team had a really original name too, it didn't sound anything like a rap mogul's company name or anything, it was sweet.

Hey, he might cut a hole in your fuel line or something to give him an advantage.  I heard he was taking the training wheels off this weekend too!

That happened to me once years ago when I had an R6.  Stupid kids charity car wash.  I wasn't paying attention to what they were doing and they put armorall on the tires so it would look nice and shiny.

Scared the living crap out of me, I actually cleaned the tires with brake cleaner.  Which was also probably not a good idea, but I couldn't figure out how to get it off and dish soap wasn't working.

^^^^ way too much.

for $4k, you can get a much better and newer bike.

think about it, if joe can find an '05 ZX6R with like 9k miles in mint condition for $5k, then an '03ish sportbike can be easily had for $4k. or an '05 with more miles and possibly a low-speed drop.

two years ago, i was looking to get an '05ish ZX6RR for $5500/obo. wish i could've gotten it.
peace.

uncomfortable/rock hard seats are pretty commonplace in all things Honda. i've never liked Honda interiors in their cars (even their "luxury" cars) nor the seats on their bikes. i always have to change the seat out to a Corbin or something. stock Suzuki seats are probably some of the most comfortable i've sat on. haven't sat on any of the new Yamaha or Kawas.
peace.

Yea, I wanted to do that when I was home, but I was impatient to ride it, so I went with the USAA to Progressive option.  When I get home in July I'm going to call them for sure.  That might make a big difference for me.  It's too bad they don't allow anyone to grab quotes from their website.

There is a 2004 with less miles on craigslist in your area for only 500 bucks more.  Thats way too much for that bike.

WSBK

Superpole!

6 in a row...

Ben Spies made it 6 pole positions in a row, equaling the record set by Doug Polen back in 1991, but it was as close as it could possibly be. Spies led from his first fast lap with a time of 1'37.366, but as the final seconds ticked away, Xerox Ducati's Michel Fabrizio snatched pole with a blistering 1'37.289. Fabrizio's joy was to be very short lived, as just seconds later, Ben Spies crossed the line on his Sterilgarda-sponsored Yamaha to take pole with a time of 1'37.288 - a difference of just one thousandth of a second.

Max Biaggi crossed the line shortly after Ben Spies to take the 3rd fastest time, demoting Noriyuki Haga to 4th position, and the last spot on the front row of the grid.

Pos No. Rider Bike Time Diff
1 19 B. Spies Yamaha YZF R1 1'37.288
2 84 M. Fabrizio Ducati 1098R 1'37.289 0.001
3 3 M. Biaggi Aprilia RSV4 Factory 1'37.466 0.178
4 41 N. Haga Ducati 1098R 1'37.544 0.256
5 65 J. Rea Honda CBR1000RR 1'37.634 0.346
6 96 J. Smrz Ducati 1098R 1'37.677 0.389

250's are on, its pouring down rain.  I know the races are already over so I'm trying to avoid the results online.  They are really tip-toeing around the track right now though.  This could make the GP bikes an interesting race since power will be taken out of the equation.

Geezus those Ducati's get off the line fast.  Haga always seems to be first into the corner no matter what part of the front row he is own.

Biaggi was up early and already slipped to 5th

Can't believe Rossi wrecked.  However what is more unbelievable is after switching bikes and all that stuff he was never able to gain a single place the rest of the race.

I had to step out for the GP race, I heard he wrecked though.  How was he allowed to switch bikes during the race?  did he crash on the first lap?

If he did, it wouldn't have mattered, he would have been several laps down by the time he got back on the grid, no matter what he did, he wasn't catching anyone.

Spies tires look like they are gone, I don't think he can hhold off Fibrizio for the rest of the race.  Look how much the bike is moving around right now.  Haga might finally win  atitle this year.

the race started out wet so they were allowed to come in and change to a bike with slicks as the track dried out.  Well Rossi was the 1st one to come in and change to slicks.  He then wrecked on the slicks.  He came back in and switched back to his bike with rain tires.  He then came back in again and switched back to his bike with slicks once they got it fixed.  He was in 16th place the entire race after wrecking.  Oh yeah and did I mention he also got a ride through penalty for speeding on pit lane.

Haha, wow.  So basically he mailed that one in.

So we have about a four way tie for the GP lead right now right?

WTF SPIES!!!  Geezus, first you run out of gas in race 1 last week, now you don't even make the freaking warmup lap in race 2 in South Africa? I think Yamaha just handed Haga the title.  I don't see him making up that big of a lead, assuming Haga goes on to win this race or come in second.

Funny that Spies is basically starting his career the same way Haga did, crash or win, nothing in between.  Still, great to see him out there representing the country.  Everyone knows he is the fastest rider out there right now.  I'm pulling for BIaggi to make a push though, I want Aprilia to do well.

Speaking of which, have you seen the new Vemar helmet?

I would NOT want to crash in a carbon helmet.  Talk about splinters and jaw surgery.  There were a few lawsuits pending against them with their first batch of CF helmets due to this.

FYI, Shaun Whyte placed last in the South African WSBK race.

Really?  This is the first I have heard of any issues with the carbon helmets.  It doesn't seem like they would splinter any more than the regular plastic that is already used on the outside of helmets.  The one thing I would be concerned with is them breaking down if the wrong type of clear coat is actually used on them.

Not that bad really, 750 MSRP, probably get them for 699, its FIA approved, which is odd since I would think that means it would pass FIM standards as well, but I don't see them claiming it.  They can only make 2 per day.  Rumor is that RSV4 owners in the UK get a free one with the bike.

I believe that was one of the reasons that the original Vemars were selling for 99 dollars, a major break from the MSRP mid 2005.

I do remember that vaguely a few years ago.  I generally associate Vemar with MX and cruiser helmets though.  Never paid attention to any of their sportbike models.

Reading about the construction process on their new helmet is interesting though.  All military grade and very low quantity type stuff.

Haha, its well known that I love cougars.  My GF is not so amused, but I think its hilarious.  The lady at the DMV did not decline my request, now just have to wait and see if the state does.

My friend Mike had GOTMILF on his Supra.  He was able to have it for a few years until 2 dads complained about it.  So, good luck in the long term.

Thats kind of what I'm worried about.  I told the lady at the DMV that I was a hunter and hunted for cougars, totally went right over her head.
