as far as resort riding goes, I would take jackson or a couple other rocky mtn resorts before AK.  Never been in the bc of AK so even if I went, I would probably not survive.  I think most of us probably prefer our home resorts and what we know (at least in a few states).  For those who don't mind hiking, you can also ride year round here...not the best, but it's still snow.  damn I need some snow.

I also find a change can be a lot of fun too as long as you have a few days to ride it. If you are only riding it for a day it seems like you just start to understand it and then you have to go. When you go for a few days you really get to learn what is fun on that kind of snow.

thats how it is.. the terrain is in every direction, right away.

*CLAIM ALERT*

you guys should be seeing some more juneau footage in the new absinthe movie this year.. they were in town for a long time.  gigi, jp solberg, dcp, wille yli-luoma, oli gagnon, MFM, even saw travice rice, and im sure there are a couple im forgetting.

so hard not to turn into an over excited pro ho, but when most of your favorite riders happen to be riding at your place all at the same time, and when i rode with gigi and jp and dcp.. you gotta give me a break and let me get excited.  especially when gigi saw the pirates sticker on my car and yells to me "hey pirate!"  just about pooped my pants.

/tangent /claims

Where I live the most pow we've gotten was 24in in a day. But that was two years ago and it was the first time that much snow fell in about 30 years, according to the news. Yeah Central Ohio sucks. Our mt, Mad River Mountain, is not even a mt it is a hill with 300 ft. verticle drop. Louie Vito started out here.

Mountain stats, if your interested

Its the largest in Ohio.

spens, you have every right to claim.  That's so cool you got ride with those pros or even see them ride in person (I'm guessing you either left their presence inspired or disillusioned Confused)

speaking of absinthe, "Optimistic" is now playing on Fuel TV: Insane Cinema.

Absinthe films are awesome.  I'm definitely looking forward to the new one after what spenser wrote about it.
