Starter tricks-

usually when you go towards the park and it's packed, you should be at a level to throw down with the big boys with how long you'll be waiting up there...or just be like me and snake everyone if they don't go within 5 seconds open window lol

start with front 180's. then go from there

or u can enjoy some beginner boxes, dont need to learn switch to 50 50 a box.  just dont speed check when you're close to the lip of the box, stay still on the box, and look at the end and bend ur knees for impact.

dude you need to get switch riding down hardest thing ever!!! harder than doing boardslides or anything else lol, b/c u'll realize that you cant just do a 360 you gotta do 180's and make it look smooth then go to 360's and landing switch and riding out.  so tuff

with only ten days under your belt your more likely to accidentaly hit a big jump and break something or get landed on midway through this season start hitting the little features good luck!

riding witch sucks at first, but you learn.

honestly, just take ur riding to some good fresh powder, build a small jump and just try doing spins. that way your not in anyones way, you dont make a fool of yourself, and you have a soft landing.

I'm watching snowboard addiction videos and the tip about making your own balance beam to practice tricks looks like it can help you get more comfortable with 50/50's.

Its a balance- you need to learn solid skills on piste and around resort 1st, then, when you can carve and ride switch, take to the park, just go for straight airs over the kickers for the 1st few runs to get a feel for the jumps and airtime. then you can start putting in a few grabs- method and indy are good places to start- keep working at it till you are totally comfortable in the air, then start to think about bigger tricks.

The basic is something I would learn first. I need to get my switch riding down. I ride goofy, its surprisingly hard to switch and ride regular for some reason. But next season is when I'll start more on the switch riding.

When i was starting out I nailed switch riding first, and started with some 180s off small kickers and boardslides

some stuff again.
LEARN TO CARVE.. sure you might be able to do a smeer 3, or possibly 5 but carving off a jump will be easier, smoother, faster and will generate way more pop than smeering.
LEARN TO RIDE SWITCH, not just carving but switch ollies too,
Start of small, you dont wanna hurt yourself cause that sucks
nail a trick before going for the next in that series.. i.e  land a front 1 99% of the time before doing front 3's, will take more time but it will help your style, confidence and overall ability much more.
Ask a more experienced rider to watch what you doing and spot mistakes. (smeering of jumps, not holding grab long enough, tilting head at a weird angle, flailing, centered balance or for rails, is your back foot sliding out, not centered balance, nose or tail heavy, rail approach angle etc. are just some things to look for
Practice, your not going anywhere without that and it takes time, have fun, ride with friends to push yourself.

What's a better jib box or rail?

You should start to learn to ride switch. If you are just starting out use box rails and first and don't rush into bigger tricks. make sure you got basics on lock before you try new tricks.
