^^ I feel you.

Yesterday I went in to a place to get a price match done on some hiking boots.  (The salesman originally told me they have it for 30 days.)  I called before going in, and they said it was all good, just bring a receipt.  When I got there, I was bounced around several people, and they told me that the competitor didn't have my size of boot in stock at that moment, so they wouldn't price match me....

So I gave them the box and said "I would like to return these please."  Got my money back, and promptly went to the competitor and made my purchase.

Wow... bad form people.  Bad form.

I should be at enough points for a pair of goggles by the end of the summer. By then there should probably be a good selection of 13 goggles I can choose from.

Good time of year, there may still be some pimpin 13 bindings that are soon to come open for you.

Thanks!  It would be sweet if I could get some 2013 bindings, but I may be a little early for that. I have 30 days to use the code, so we'll see.

Either way, 12 or 13 free bindings, I am very stoked.

Thanks TruSnow Thumbs Up

I was wondering the same thing.  I believe it is when they add all the 2014 gear to the website. IIRC, last year it was around June, July, August that they started adding new gear to the site (i think).

Oh, by the way, I just hit 3000 points!!  WooHoo!!

I guess that is their logic.  That locking pocket knives are more dangerous and would be more effective to stab someone.

But you can still stab someone (maybe not as effectively) with a non locking pocket knife.  And you can still have a super sharp blade on a non locking knife that could be used to cut someones throat.

So I don't know.  Seems kind of odd to all of the sudden allow non locking knives when everyone is already used to no knives allowed whatsoever.

Permitted Knives:

i suppose so. l think if the knife doesn't lock in place, the bottle opener would be a good substitution also

I don't know anything about knives but I assume that swiss army knives are nice for the tons of pieces that is built into them, but the quality sucks. I could be wrong

locking has nothing to do with how well a knife will hold up when using a stabbing motion it just means it won't close up on your hand if you stab wrong. People are much softer than tables especially anywhere you would want to stab someone to be effective so that theory really holds no weight whatsoever. Locking blades are kinda like "assault weapons" they can look scary and therefore must be much much more dangerous.

also on a side note as someone who has used and carried a knife on a daily basis since the age of six (21+ years) and has owned knives and used knives from most major manufacturers swiss army knives suck, and yes I've owned those too.

I have no idea. All I know is if there was a locking and a non locking blade about to stab me. I'd like to ban both, haha. How do u go from all knives banned to permitting non locking? Isn't that going backwards

What makes knives stab effectively is the rigidity to not deform when thrust into something. The blade size and non-locking limitations mean that even a sharpened blade conforming to the allowance cannot keep its shape after one forceful use. Try using a sharpened Swiss army knife to stab a table versus a butterknife; the former will probably be bent useless after  1 or 2 good thrusts.

They have changed that.  It has been delayed, but it will be finalized soon.

Small Pocket Knives – Small knives with non-locking blades smaller than 2.36 inches and less than 1/2 inch in width will be permitted

I was so tired yesterday that I woke up around 10am, ate breakfast, fell asleep. Woke up, watch a few shows and then got tired some more around 5pm. So I took a nap 5-8, woke up and made dinner, then a few friends all gathered at a house to watch a movie. Came home at 12:45am and went to sleep. So non-productive :-(

^^ most gripes: lost luggage, delayed or cancelled flights, and getting there 2 hours early to get through the checkpoint.
But if you fly later in the night time, you're golden! get there an hour early, no lines, and lost of luggage is reduced because of less passengers.

The actual flight itself doesn't bother me, it's the airport (TSA, checking luggage, waiting, retrieving luggage, getting rental vehicle, getting lost leaving airport) that irritates me.  Being on a plane is relaxing to me - no responsibilities, no one waiting for me to do something, someone else is doing the driving, etc.  Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Same here.  I don't like flying either.  Not so much the actual being on an airplane.  More so the TSA and the security, having to take off your shoes, get radiated by the naked body scanner etc.  And I hate that you have to show up more than an hour before your flight to get all checked it, then sit around and wait.  And I can't stand layovers.  I always seem to have layovers every time I fly.

Happy Sunday everyone.  I hope everyone here has a good one.

I'm going with my sis in a little while to her best friend's new restaurant that shes general managing.  Hope the food is good.
