sooo...I just cleaned out my car a few days after the latest trip and discovered my hydration pack leaked into one of my boots
. There was a quarter inch of water pooled in the bottom and all the foam was soaked. To make matters worse, they're salomon "fusion" liners, which aren't removable, so I spent an hour tamping off the inside of the boot with towels...and they're still wet. Hope they dry by next weekend. |

Shovelled both driveways and a little bit of my neighbour's in 15 minutes, blitzed that and went inside for a nap lol... Spent a few hours going around stores to find a tablet: Wacom Intuos5 Large. Store clerks were utterly useless and unhelpful. Some went to the extent of being downright rude... I told one associate at Future shop to go f*ck himself. After all that, I just bought a headset for my PrayStation. ![]() |

^haha I find myself telling clerks off more and more these days due to their rudeness. Lets them know they can't treat customers that way. But I find it mostly in mall retailers.

DUDe that is totally awesome! I would definitely make that but how well does that work to fill up a hill in say your backyard if you had no snow at all to begin with? [/QUOTE]
I have a pretty small yard. I have two drops that work for a wall and two boxes. In about 30 hours I have about a 10 inch base. We never get much snow around here the past few winters so it works out really well as long as the temps are for it. Natural snow compacts much more than man made so my snow holds up pretty well.
It depends on how big a hill in your yard is, if you're looking to cover acres it would take a bigger setup than I have, but it's do-able. I just want enough to play on. We had a great session tonight and we're riding tommrow afternoon. No lines, no travel, it's ideal for us.
The electric and water bills kind of suck. Water is usually triple for those 2-3 months I can make snow. Electric is more too, but not too bad. I try to get a good base down and touch it up as needed. So it's not like I'm always making snow. Right now I could be running the gun to pile stuff up, but I'm covered so I'll give it a break for the night.
If you have the space to build a drop or two and make a couple boxes it's worth it for the use you can get out of it. I learned so much last year that I wouldn't have on the hill. I had the balls to 270 on, which I had never come near trying on a hill.
And it's in the comfort of your own yard. So you never have to pay resort prices for lunch

Hahaha that makes me want to get one so bad. It just doesn't stay cold long enough here. The other day it just started snowing and then turned into rain. it is so damn frustrating. It hangs around the edge of 32 degrees until like January and February, then we get snow. Sometimes even in march.

The Z-5500 are really, really strong speakers. Bass lows and mid tones are very good and quite clear. Turn it up and you probably won't tell the difference from a real cinema: there is no distortion and the bass is crisp and tight... floor-shaking stuff but without that raspiness of cheaper subs. The subwoofer alone is probably the bulk of the price and the heatsink sticking out the back is huge. I'm no audiophile, but I do notice a weakness in the high notes which I think is because there are no tweeters. Easy fix though if I just switched the satellites to some high end, two-way units with internal passive crossover. The Z-5500 is no connoisseur setup, but it's basically the best out-of-the-box package you can buy for your PC or game console.

What are your plans for NYE tomorrow? I'm going to a club downtown, actually my first time doing something like this for NYE. I'm usually not a big fan of the atmosphere but hoping it's a better vibe because of the countdown. To me, it's really just an excuse for clubs to double/triple their normal cover charge and double/triple their drink prices. I guess I'll be predrinking lots and getting sober while there. Apparently they'll give us champagne for the countdown, let's hope they're not short with that.

Careful out there. I've seen checkpoints on the news. Police have already arrested people for DUI. Take a taxi or public transportation.

Happy NYE everyone. I'm at work at the moment, but will leave at noon to work at home the rest of the day. There's hardly anyone in the office, so no need for me to be here :D.
I don't really have any plans for the night. I'll see if i can't pick up a bottle of bubbly to drink with the lady. ALso got some fireworks in the closet i may need to take out. :D Too broke to do much beyond that though. ... My work sent out an email on the TWENTY-EIGHTH of december stating they weren't giving bonuses this year... thanks for the early heads up, dicks! |

I'm going to brave Bart (SF's subway) and hit a house party and some bars. I'd like to catch the fireworks display, but my friends probably won't want to on account of it cuts into their drinking time.

Defenitely sketchy driving on New Years Eve. A lot of people who don't normally drink that often will be on the road driving to and from parties. Not to mention all the check points.

Ya I prefer to do my own house party for NYE, don't want to risk the drunk drivers. I had some pretty scary drives home on NYE when I lived in Vegas, not worth the risk anymore.
