I paid for my gf's lift ticket yesterday (namely cuz i owed her for my half of the power bill, and this made it a wash). She paid a trainer person for her lesson. (I'm by no means experienced enough to teach her, and she feels like she gets nervous when I'm watching her do/learn something (golf... softball.. snowboarding). Her lesson went well, and the instructor stuck with her an extra hour just to help her our. She was starting to get the hang of things by the end of the day. The snow was a bit sticky though, and it was a different experience getting up to speed at times. Not the best for learning lol. All the same, very much lookin forward to the next time out :) .
I DID get to finally see what everyone means by corduroy! Up until yesterday, all my trips to the mountain have been to Anthony Lakes Ski Resort. Their groomed runs lack the cord texture that was prevalent at Spout yesterday. But now I don't feel like quite as much of a noob lol.

Django rocked my world. Such a great movie! Anyone else seen it yet?

Damn, I hope their coming up on top! My parents always fall for the swag too, it's sad. They pick up new cameras, laptops, etc...but they lose tons of money while they're at it.

-9 degrees at Northstar yesterday.  I am still tired and two fingertips are still a little funky from the cold.    

I woke up to Santa Ana winds today...super windy, cold, and dry.  This is not good for my cold.

I don't mind cold and windy, but the dryness is what I hate.  I have to make sure I drink plenty of water today.

Plan to be riding the Tahoe backcountry this weekend. I have snowshoes, but I'd love to try a splitboard for the first time. Might end up renting a set for the day, but at $50/day it's a little much. Yes, I'm cheap. Would any nice people out there be willing to let me borrow for just a day? :)
