Anyone who"s a car nut. Is it better to brake or gear down when driving a manual? I always thought just brake cause it will save your transmission in the long run, and brakes are not as expensive or that hard to replace. But does it matter? Should I just gear down to save my brakes?
Better gas mileage?
Worst I had was wonderful.

In order to save on gas you're supposed to use the highest gear possible for whatever speed you're going at. Ideally you should be below 1500 RPM at any time. That's what they're teaching me in driving classes right now anyway.

^ true but also it uses more gas to increase speed if your in to high of a gear.
i believe it puts your engine in a strain too.

You have the half priced shakes at sonic thing going on? There was a couple weeks in my life where id get one every day.  Strawberry with fresh banana is the best imo.

Pretty chilling account from Greg Hill about the huge slide in nepal this weekend that took out a whole camp.  Been feeling bad about Glen Plake, he got blasted but made it out alive, sounds like he lost two of his best friends (one of which was in his tent).  Anyway, was hoping this would be a less dramatic year than last but we'll see.

Yeah, it makes sense..highest gear at the lowest rpm..that should be the most gas efficient. That 55mph rule is like 50 years old..I figure my car is most efficient at around 70mph.

pretty sure that's namely limited to govt workers. I don't even think local schools get that day off. I had labor day, now gotta wait til Thanksgiving and the day after as well.

Finally got off pain meds and can drink again. I got to go to the Giant's game on Sunday and I quickly learned that my tolerance has decreased significantly.

I think paychecks are valid from 1 year of the date written. I'd contact payroll and ask for a new check.

Generally those things are only good for 6 months or so. I suppose you could still try to cash it... not sure what they'll do. Otherwise I'd recommend getting ahold of whichever company issued it to you and try to get a new one.. since ya still have the check, it's obvious the money hasnt been taken out.

Fap'ing is an Onomonopia. In other words, "Fap" signifies the sound of your hand hitting against your body, while moving at a furious pace, resulting in the sound effect of "Fap" lol

I hope i gave a vivid and thorough explanation for you.

^ Quite vivid and thorough.  The " while moving at a furious pace " part made me laugh... we used to make comments like "his hand was a blur of activity".

Or from certain sites that take a while to get shit out the door.. waiting for the shipping confirmation is irritating! ordered shoes 2 days ago from zappos and still haven't received notice that they've left the warehouse :(

Fortunately I'm finding activities to help pass the time. Received 4 more free suite tickets to the local (1 hr. away) Hockey team's match tonight. Will be heading there after work. Oddly enough, the gf is looking forward to it more than me.. but so long as she's happy B-)

BLeh....have to sit through a meeting tonight with my service manager at work to prove that I didn't over torque a part on a customers bike which ended up in a broken carbon frame. I've been told this is just routine, but still sweatin it.

On a more positive note, my friend who's house I have been restoring for almost 2 years now just got back from Europe, and wants me to get back to work on all the wood trim in the house that is still covered in paint. Time to make dem monies! LOL

It's likely the stuff they're just trying the hardest to get rid of, although its entirely possible that Allie or George or Chad (the only 3 I know in that office, and Chad... I don't think any of us have ever seen his face) picked some of those items out.
