Hey, atleast you get two consecutive days off.. A few buddies of mine get splits like SUN/THURS. What kinda garbage is that?! Ya never really get a chance to unwind, cuz you'll likely have errands to run on atleast one of em.. then its right back to the daily grind. And worse yet, if you plan on taking any sort of trip, you're pretty much guaranteed to have to use time off/vacation. That would suck so bad!
And Angry Midget makes a pretty good point about dead slopes on your days off!.. assuming you can find another friend who can get up there on a weekday :D

Hey now! I'm just gettin into this thing, and i've only been on a board twice! These threads have been invaluable as a resource to learn, but I hadn't seen those terms yet :D Using "corduroy" as a term for groomed seems like a waste of syllables lol

I've never celebrated Thanksgiving before, but a friend invited me over for her Thanksgiving lunch today. It was nice, got to meet her family, tonnes of food. I ended up doing the dishes hahah
We're doing a movie tonight and tomorrow night.

Why did they celebrate it soo early?

^ Easy chill, you didn't miss anything.  Lux is referring to the Canadian Thanksgiving.  You know... Tim Horton doughnuts, beer and poutine.

Instead of a couple NFL games they watch NHL games (but not this year since they're being boners again).  Some unique dishes get served like Timbits stuffing and Molsenberry sauce.

haha guys well we pretty much do the same thing for Thanksgiving as the Americans, ate turkey, etc. Just different calendar day, I don't know why. But it's an inconvenience when trying to schedule trips over the border to visit somebody if they don't have the same weekend off! major schedule conflict.

It is chilly out! Had to break out the goggles for my ride home from work tonight. Don't think MRM will be kicking up the guns anytime soon. My guess would be the end of November..Ermm

Yeah I know its always around that time haha. Just wishful thinking. It would be cool though if they had some snow on just the lower part of the terrain park. even if it is pretty crappy, it be fun anyways.

Taking some artistic license here.. Molson makes a pretty good sauce! Not too familiar with their berries tho :))

Also, Lux.. any reason ya hadn't celebrated it? Sounds like a good introduction all the same :). I hear ya with the doing the dishes.. I'm almost more willing to do other people's dishes than i am my own. Perhaps i should make some friends that feel the same way, then host more dinner parties lol

Eh, well there's no particular reason to me not celebrating it to be honest. My family never did it when growing up and so I don't do it now. Always nice to meet people, although this time her parents were really, really religious... I don't remember the last time I've had to say grace. So I just bullshitted it hahah (really socially awkward moment...)

I was asked whether I'm thankful for anything and my reply was that I don't need a calender day to show appreciation for what I have. Similar logic applies for basically every other calendar holiday.

side note: Molson Canadian is an alright beer, somewhat on the lower end of the selection. Personally, if I'm drinking a lager (which is rare) it's always Beck's.

I really don't ride park much anymore, but it would be fun one night in the next month when it would be cold enough to blast down a crappy strip and put 2 or 3 rails/hits in. Though, it doubt it would be remotely profitable for them, and I would bet dollars that the new GM wouldn't be down with it at all.
They also need to put a few mtn. bike trails in there, and charge just a little bit during the summer to run a skeleton crew and offer camping. Actually, MRM just needs better management, but that's just my opinion from going there all my life.

I have a sick stomach and I think Panda Express is to blame.  I think I am now well over my former addiction to orange chicken.  Just sharing as a warning to others before eating there.  I think the quality control has been lost since they expanded everywhere.

As far as Chinese food goes, Panda Express is like the Taco Bell of the Mexican food world.
If you are really hungry it seems good at first. But after you are full you realize it is pretty crappy and it doesn't sit right.

My last day in Honolulu was great! Had a surf lesson and hit a girl cuz I didn't know how to turn since it was my first time getting up. Then got sick from some hawaiian style sushi and followed that up by getting rear-ended on my way to the airport. But other than all that crap happening, the weather was fantastic!!!

The really sad thing is that I ate Taco Bell the day before.  I really hate my stomach I guess.  Fortunately, it's now been a few hours and I am feeling much better.

Haha, Panda Express is legit if you are drunk or stoned. Just like most fast food.

Extreme levels of salt is just one of the reasons I avoid fast food and junk food like the plague.

And its not just fast food. Take PF Changs for example. They cook most of their menu items with loads of sugar and salt.  The only thing healthy at PF Changs is the steamed vegetable Buddha Bowl. And that place is expensive.

Panda Express is horrid.  There aren't many places that are less legit.  When you get out of college you'll figure that out.

Sounds like a hell of a day! I had to read the "hit a girl" part twice cuz it didn't really click the first time lol. And being rear ended is just karma balancing itself for the day.. better than it comin back on ya when youre in the air :P. A colleague was supposed to return to work today after a vacation in the Carolinas. Her flight ended up being delayed due to "mechanical difficulties". If there's one thing I DON'T want to hear prior to boarding a plane, it's that!

I try to avoid fast food myself, but I'll admit i occasionally get a yen for a McChicken. One of those with a salsa packet (oh yes, more salt!) sometimes just brightens my day! But i limit myself to like one per month, if that.

I get a craving for fast food once in a while but I try to avoid it. So many chemicals in addition to the salt and sugar.

Shop smart... Shop S-Mart.

bryman: i can usually spare a few rooms in my mansion-vineyard. but my infinity pool is under repairs after my client had an "accidental death" when they used it last week for a good time. that and the CIA sealing it off for investigations for connections to some asian triads underaged sex slave trafficking. i'm sure it'll all get sorted out soon and your buddies can use it. but until then...i apologize for the inconvenience. Yep. Some rules I follow when looking for a good Chinese restaraunt (especially when out of town):

1) All the cars in the parking lot are locals.

2) All the employees are actual Asians (not Mexicans, like Panda Express and many other establishments). Preferably FOTB. Hot daughter waitresses are a big plus.

3) Most of the customers are Asians. Not a bunch of fat round eyes.

4) They are busy during lunch and dinner. If you walk in and the place is empty during peak hours, LEAVE!

Haha, I hope this post wasn't too racist.

Panda Express isn't even real Chinese food, it's American food disguised as Chinese food which is why you don't really see any Asians eating there.  My friend has worked for Panda Express since high school and apparently to promote healthiness, they're required to run 2 miles in 16 minutes.  LOL

I ate at Panda Express a few times in Illinois last winter. And yeah, pretty much no Asians eat there. The venue was run by Hispanics. Got the best reaction from the employees when I tried to pay with my colourful Canadian money hahah

It's funny because every chipotle I go to now, all the employees are american. When about four years ago they were all hispanics just like every other chipotle at that time.

Panda is terrible.  Now I love me some Chipotle, but I miss it dearly since there aren't any by me.  And it's way better than Qdoba; not even close.

Corduroy is groomed, corn is basically really granular snow that is made by thawing and refreezing, crud is just that, crud. Usually it's bulletproof windblown stuff that has a lot of ridges or ruts, basically anything thats not fun to ride. Mashed potatoes is slush.

Hey now! I'm just gettin into this thing, and i've only been on a board twice! These threads have been invaluable as a resource to learn, but I hadn't seen those terms yet :D Using "corduroy" as a term for groomed seems like a waste of syllables lol

Corduroy is perfectly acceptable.  Ever worn corduroy pants?  They resemble the groomed slopes perfectly.  It's a match made in heaven.

Panda Express isn't even real Chinese food, it's American food disguised as Chinese food which is why you don't really see any Asians eating there.  My friend has worked for Panda Express since high school and apparently to promote healthiness, they're required to run 2 miles in 16 minutes.  LOL

I'm half Chinese and you're right, Panda express is not authentic! But it still taste decent!

I didnt know places you work at can make you RUN. I would die. haha.

Depending on how much you use colour, you'll may as well just get the black cartridge or use an old laser toner printer. I can't remember the last time I needed to print in colour, so I've cut that cost considerably.
