yeah..same reason soccer isn't as big in the US as it is in other countries..lack of scoring...americans want to see more points and more points...that's why football is so popular here..each score is worth 6 points...if they were only worth 1 point, nobody would watch, even though the action itself is the same. if hockey goals are woth 6pts each..more americans would watch...Confused

Hockey and soccer are low scoring sports but you get more thrill at watching the players fight it out on hockey whereas the fans duke it out and go rioting in soccer.  LOL

Adopting a dog on Friday...so excited Big smile

And I just watched a vid on zorbing gone wrong.  I feel bad for the guy who died, but rolling in a ball near a hill with no stop?  That was just a disaster waiting to happen.

Hockey is my favorite sport.  The rest of the country doesn't share my enthusiasm for it with football, baseball, basketball and (*gasp*) NASCAR being more popular.  I'll use Brendan Shanahan's words to describe why I like hockey:

Is hockey hard? "I don't know, you tell me. We need to have the strength and power of a football player, the stamina of a marathon runner, and the concentration of a brain surgeon. But we need to put all this together while moving at high speeds on a cold and slippery surface while 5 other guys use clubs to try and kill us, oh yeah did I mention that this whole time we're standing on blades 1/8 of an inch thick? Is ice hockey hard? I don't know, you tell me. Next question."

NASCAR is pretty dumb...you go in circles..over and over and over...then you go to another city..and do the circles over and over and over..then next city..then next city...at least in F1 racing, there are different courses with different turns and different scenery...Wacko

NASCAR involves a lot of drafting behind cars to gain more speed than everyone else. There is skill involved but I agree it's kinda boring.

The only excitement in NASCAR is when someone crashes or a fight between the drivers breaks out because of a hit.  LOL

Crashes are awesome. Especially when the cars start pilling up higher and higher.

I'll bet. So skilled in fact, that only the most skilled drivers can turn left 200-500 times.

If scoring is a concern, I think people would love snooker. Tonnes of scoring in that and lots of tactics and foresight involved too! Wink Dare I say it's also a superb gentlemen's game like golf. A sport for the whiskey-drinking connoisseurs.

That zorbing video is pretty full on.

On another note obviously NASCAR is fairly boring to watch but has anyone ever sat behind the wheel of a car traveling at that speed? Obviously it takes skill or else why wouldn't everyone do it and reap the rewards?

I completely blanked that I'm in Aus so the buyer agreement makes it basically useless to have a goggle coupon. Then the only one I could buy that I wanted was 13 gear so couldn't work anyway!! Major bummer

That it was. But take into account that it was right before the holidays, and...erm...its a FREE board. Longer than "normal"? Yes. Still a free board? Yes.

I also wasn't really in need of the board either. I have two other rockered boards in my quiver. So I was just going to use this board to see how it rode pow, and let my co-worker use it any other time. Picking up a Ride DH in the next week or two. I honestly doubt I will ride the RC more than twice this year.

Still stoked on it though LOL

I hate Chem or Bio lab reports because it all depends on how picky your grader wants to be on you. Other ppl will do the same mistake but no points will be taken from them. Grades are all bs

$629 for a jacket seems a bit steep if you're just using it for snowboarding. I'd rather use that money towards a board.

crappy movie.. but nice post lol.

I really need to get to bed earlier. Been up past 1 the past 3 nights, and it's really taking its toll on my attentiveness. I have class tonight which ends at 8. I'll likely grab a beer with the lady after that, and hopefully conk out. Tomorrow's payday.. so the sooner I sleep, the sooner that seems to come :D

Apparently death is common in zorbing, previous years there were reports of about 200 deaths a year (mostly tourists), but now it's about 30.  That's one way to ruin your vacation!  LOL
