Well drinking is discretionary, you don't need it to have a good time

Wow, no one ever HAS to drive home after drinking.  Call a buddy, call a cab, walk... anything but get behind the wheel.  A few drinks can affect a person's ability to drive, driving buzzed is the same as driving drunk.  A recent study shows teenagers-to-20somethings actually think they are better drivers after drinking.  Completely stupid.

^^ Wouldn't it make more sense that an experienced adult would have the better edge of the two? I don't drink and drive and I barely drink at all to know from experience but wouldn't that make more sense? Teens-20's drive better while under the influence? hmmmm... Maybe they're comparing this to people in their 80's LOL

^ If I'm the passenger I'll take the 80-year-old driver over the 20-something with a buzz every day of the week.  It might take longer to get home but at least I'll get home.

When I go out with friends we use a designated driver rotation - each outing has one person that drinks soda/juice/water/tonic while the rest have as many or few drinks as they want.  Most bars let the DD drink soda/juice/water/tonic for free.  The next outing is someone else's turn at DD.  Lucky for us one friend's wife is pregnant and she has been our DD on a couple of occasions - dinners, sports bar, etc., nothing too late because she needs her rest.  Plus they have a minivan and we can squeeze 8 people in it.

It's raining in SC, I guess it doesn't matter since I will be in a plant implementing new software all day/night.

My buddy had to do a half marathon run the very next day after his bachelor party. He said he only got about 2.5 hours of sleep. Idk how he ran it in 2hrs 45 mins when we had to carry him home the night before.

^No idea, but I kind of hope not. He came off as really immature and reactive. If he did, congrats to him. I hope his new snowboard allows him to ride the sister mountains of introspection and personal growth.

^ To his credit he did send me an apology, seemed sincere.  Things were certainly getting carried away on that thread.  I was a member on this site long ago (cannot remember my account and I no longer use the e-mail connected to the account) and MTPow has always been a helpful, stand-up kind of guy - so don't go messing with MTPow.  That's what pissed me off.

"...allows him to ride the sister mountains of introspection and personal growth...". very poetic of you.

I've heard that "I'm more aware when i've been drinking" BS before. If you can't pay attention when you're sober, why the hell would you be able to do it after a few beers?! Couldn't pay me to get in a car with those people.
Unless you've never had a drink in your life, if you're "buzzed", you're gonna be over the legal limit. Don't drink and drive folks.. it's dangerous... and can get expensive!

^Tackle him, take his keys. I've had nights to where I've been so drunk I honestly thought I could've driven home. I've been greatful every time I've woken up, massively hungover, and hear stories about how I tried to convince people I was good to drive. Then I usually feel kinda foolish, and incredibly thirsty.

At my sisters house again.  Watching my baby niece.  She laid down for a nap and now she's crying. Cry  Better go see what she wants.

Moving across country is fun.  Now I have to figure out the best option for cable and internet. Prices seem pretty similar across the country -- expensive and more expensive.

I hated being in SC. Especially the summers in goose creek. The only saving grace were the beaches near isle palms because they had a coastal breeze to cool things down.

Yeah, well, I'm landlocked.  Some of the people at the plant tell me Charleston isn't too far from here but I'm working 18 hour days on this project just so I can get out of here before the weekend.  No time for sight-seeing or beaches.  Basically my days this week consist of sleep, eat, work.  I get some free time to browse the web while running server upgrades and applying patches.

I work in a lady dominated office (only 3 guys on my floor of 30 or so employees).  They do the weirdest thing with free food.  If there is a donut or a muffin or something in the break room, they will cut it half and take half and leave half. (this makes sense to me) Then, the next one will cut that half in half, and eat a 1/4 (of the original) and leave a 1/4.  Then, (not even kidding) the next lady will often times cut THAT 1/4 in half and eat one and leave the little 1/8 donut.

Haha, I've been getting more and more cranky when I get hungry.  Now that I've lost a good bit of weight, I find that when I go 5 or 6 hours without eating, I start to get grouchy.

I guess now that my body has less fat to feed off of, I need to provide it with food on a regular basis.

^ Nothing wrong with a girl that has a little extra to hold on to, if you know what I mean.

The doughnut cutting thing is strange, most guys will just take the last one and eat it in 3 bites.

Okay, I admit, my sister and I do the same thing whenever we share something.  We just keep on cutting it smaller and smaller until it's too small to cut in half anymore.  LOL  I guess it's the mentality like the "no, you hang up first" where you don't want to be the "bad" person or something by eating the last piece or ending the conversation.  LOL
Sessions sucks hairy monkey balls, the end.

I think you just cracked the case.  "By not eating this 1/32nd of a donut, I am not taking the last one."  Big smile

Guys, take note. Girls think taking the last one is bad...Tongue. But...if you cut stuff into smaller piecies, then you'd be acting like a girl Confused.

I'm in the same situation. 3 guys in an office of about 27-30 women. In my office, nobody eats publicly, but we have conference room gnomes that come out when nobody is around and eat doughnuts 1/2-1/4 at a time. There is rarely food left at the end of the day, especially sweet foods. Office gnomes love sweets apparently.
Shop smart... Shop S-Mart.
