Looks like I've met my match as far as despising smoking goes...

On a completely different note I took my son to the batting cage yesterday and met my asst coaches and their sons there.  We (the 3 coaches) decided to try hitting a few of the cages ourselves, starting with the Medium speed (50-55mph).  Had no problems hitting that cage so I moved up to the Fast cage (65-70mph).  Took a few pitches to adjust and started hitting that cage, too so I moved on to the Very Fast cage (80-85mph).  Tried that one twice, out of 30 pitches I made solid contact about 5 times...

thing is no, they don't know what they're getting themselves into,
They believe that this will help them quit smoking...really sad is what it is.

^^^ I don't have much opinion on whether it's dangerous for the person using it (but really, how could inhaling some vaporized frack-ing solution be anything other than terrible for you) but once it gets blown in my direction and people start telling me it's "just water vapor", well ....

/rant

And lastly:

If you're going to use a vape to smoke something it should be something natural from the erf, not some toxic chemical solution some asshole put in a little plastic bottle.  If you're going to do that just put it in a hype and shoot it so I don't have get all upset about it.

/end rant

A lot of people, especially kids from what I see, think of an e-cig as a toy. I've seen so many kids buy them and use them because they are fun to play with and do smoke tricks with. I find it so stupid.

Maybe on some days with easy jobs. But in this case, not quite, and it never really is easy. I just have more work to do the next day; it's endless work. Even now, I still haven't eaten anything today, just coffee and water. Don't have time for a break...  I think I had a Jos Louis at 4pm though, but that was it.

I'll try to summarise my work today: brake job and oil change on a BMW 323i, boss ordered wrong brakes twice; emission-related issues, diagnoses, and road tests on 3 different shitboxes (Honda Accord, Honda Civic Si, same BMW 323i above); diagnosing a Porsche Cayenne Turbo that blew a hole in a piston; then on to a rear suspension on a Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG V12... 3-hour job took 6 hours because I couldn't remove the brakes because the scanner was broken (car ECU would have blown the brakes to pieces if I removed them without deactivation); wasted time looking for tools for the job because too many people borrowing my tools; then the guy I was working with overfilled the hydraulic suspension fluid on the SL 65 AMG even though I explained the German markings to him, so that wasted more time at the end of the day. Got to finish that tomorrow morning.

On top of that, I have a bunch other ongoing jobs that I can't find time to finish: oil pump, timing cover, and water pump on a Land Rover Range Rover (need to find used timing cover from the US); BMW M5 complete rear subframe/driveline/suspension swap due to accident; BMW M6 SMG-III gearbox failure; and Mercedes-Benz ML 320 CDI fuel pump problem.

Can't catch a break... Ouch

no eating?@ that's no good lux.
you needs to eat and take a break, you are going to over work yourself.. but I can see so can you i'm sure, the passion you have for the work, or at the very least strong work ethics.. but you do need to keep in mind you gotta take care of yourself too because if you don't, nobody else really will.

And Keljai... i'm from canada. haha

I had surgery about a year ago for a torn rotator cuff, torn labrum, and frayed biceps tendon. I hope your prognosis is better than mine was. For a while, I couldn't lift my left arm without pain. Tons of rehab, and I'm close to full mobility!

Julius - what did u do to get all that? Most people only have a torn rotator cuff and if anything a torn labrum also, but not unusual to add a frayed biceps tendon with that too
The shoulder stuff was from taking a big jump on my wifes WWW 152. Short board, big bail, lots of pain. The frayed tendon was from when I used to compete and train in a lot of jiu-jitsu and sub wrestling tounaments. I tore my left bicep once and never got it addressed. When they did the MRI for my shoulder, they said I should get the frayed tendon cut and anchored to a different part of my shoulder, or it could break and cause me more pain. I feel better now.

I'll never participate in the giveaways. Don't want freebies, just here for the community and hooking up with local riders. I've also received absolutely zero of the free stuff given for the points and have, instead, given them to other people.

The other techs are not as competent, but they work hard and get things done, and my boss is too busy with customers and operating the business to be on the shop floor. A lot of the time, I'm the only one with the tools needed to work on a particular problem on a car, which is why I was assigned the Porsche today against my preference. Have to work outside because the shop is full.

Today's work with German shitboxes:
-BMW M5 drivability issue
-BMW M6 SMG-III failure and I think the computer killed the alternator again; I installed it last month. I have the charger hooked up to it in the photo.
-Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG hydraulic suspension bled and recalibrated. God this car is stupid fast... V12 twin turbo, over 600 horsepower and 1'000 Nm of torque!
-Porsche Cayenne S bent intake valves on cylinder 5. Have to sell engine overhaul. Piston may also be damaged but I can't tell. The 4WD module also seems to be forcing the car into limp/offroad mode, might have to replace it with one from Porsche... Odometer: 54'001 km (33'555 mi).

Seriously, everybody should just drive a Toyota...

That is a commendable attitude to have.  But why don't you also take part in the giveaways, so if you win, you can give it to someone who needs it and can't afford it.  Or if you win, you could sell it to someone for dirt cheap and use the money for charity or something? Win - win.

Couldn't agree more.  Toyota/Lexus for tha winn!   ......and Honda in a very close second place.

Nissan used to be a very close 3rd place, but not so sure anymore with the Renault merger.  Could be wrong though.

You will need to take the training course so that you can be certified. where they offer this varies. there are 2-3 levels as well. Each level allows you to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced courses..Pay isn't all that great, not gonna get rich doing it but enough to live.

I love vacation weeks, but sometime's they're boring. *sigh*
Wish I could go riding.

Yesss!!! WINNING!!!
I got both a Toyota and a Lexus.
Got a Honda too.

I'm also a Toyota & Honda guy. 1st car bought w/ my own money was a new 2003 Camry that my wife still drives. Then my friend crashed my Nissan Altima (that my parent bought) so I went a got an used Civic coupe. Super gas efficient w/ no frills. Needed a bigger car, so I sold the Civic and got an used 2000 Audi A6 Quattro. A dream to drive, a nightmare with problems. So I got rid of it with in a year and got an used 2003 Acura MDX. It was a warrior until earlier this year when it started having stuttering problems at over 220K miles. Now I have an used 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. We're officially a Toyota-only family now. could be as simple as a tune up...mine was some kind of valve adjustment thing that ppl were paying $500+ to do...didn't feel like shelling out that kind of money on a 10yr old car that could potentially start to have other problems, like the transmission...

My family are all Honda and Toyota, and a Lexus but going to sell that soon.  I had a BMW as my first car in high school until my little bro totaled it on his first day in college.  LOL
Sessions sucks hairy monkey balls, the end.
