i dont know if there was already a topic for this, but the search function doesnt seem to be present anymore.

black winter was fvcking sick in my opinion.  torstein killed it, that xavier guy is NUTS (last line was ridiculous), and it was all around very watchable for me and i was stoked.  landos part was rad, eric jacksons was rad.. uuuuum...... who else.  i dont know.

lando was up here for it, of course, since hes from here... all the proceeds (all ticket money/etc) went to the liska family, who lando is obviously great life-long friends with.  the dad scott liska.. well, grandpa now.. is the guy that started boarderline, by far the only shop in alaska thats ever made it big and been a huge part of the board sports scene up here.  they were around for over 15 years.. just a guess.. the late 80s to the mid 2000-2010 range? and i think being part of the OG boarderline team was landos first kick into the big leagues... heres his part in their 1999 film "brothers with different muthaaz" just for kicks.  TERRIBLE quality, i know.. filmed from my screen with my powershot.

anyway, its the oldest son jake (the guy on the right of the cover shot of that video, and landos on the left) and his wife crystal.. they just had a baby that was born three months premature and their medical bills are pretty huge for all the special care their baby needs.  lando auctioned off his 2010 board and it went for 440.  woulda got more (over retail, im sure) if juneau were bigger and had more people with more money to throw around, but either way, money is money.  pretty cool.  i have a video of the auction that ill put up just for the hell of it.  more meaningful to the local people, but still.

overall, definitely really enjoyed the movie.. probably one of the only movies this year im going to purchase, unless i can borrow a copy.

Haven't seen Black Winter, but the auction was a cool way to raise money.  +1 for the winner.

Seb Toots also killed it.  Innovative jibbing along with double corks.  The only other guys I can say have that range of skills based on their parts this year are Dan Brisse and Bode Merrill.  After watching both Black Winter and Neverland a few times, I definately liked Neverland more.  Both are very solid, I was lucky enough to buy them both last week.

seb was probably the only part in black winter that i didnt really like.  i dont like his style.  he has that short-young-kid-with-too-wide-a-stance style.. pretty "meh" for me.

upon viewing this a second time.... this movie is killer in my opinion.  i really like torsteins part.. and xavier is nuts!  flying so fast.  a lot of the time you cant tell how fast people are REALLY going, even when theyre hauling.. but you can see it with him.  landos part was not as exciting at the premier, though i still really liked it, but it was great the second time around.  eric jackson is rad too.  i love both those guys.. terrain, styles, etc.  great stuff.

skipped seb toots about half way through, skipped chas' entire part, skipped the second half of the long haired swedish jibber dude (forget his name, but its something that sounds like a northern european warlord from the medieval era)..

and lonnie.. wouldnt expect him to get last part, but hes great.  my friend luke (who is finally back in town, maybe for all winter!) is good friends with lonnie.  he lived in mammoth for at least a year.  anyway, he was telling me lonnie got ender and how sick his part was, and i jokingly said something like "what is it, more mammoth park stuff?"  boy was i wrong, and luke told me.  dude is killing the big mountain stuff.. seems like a cool guy too.

and the tahoe bonus was rad.  so many methods at that donner ranch spot.  there is a triple poked indy in the first few minutes, so you know its rad.
