Where is the best place i should go here in the midwest? I would like something close.
I live in southern WI. Right on the WI and IL stateline. |

Best places around you are Tyrol Basin in Mt. Horeb, Cascade up in Portage, and Devils Head up in Merrimac. All three are pretty much the same. Tyrol has a pretty good park most of the time. If you are looking for some pow and more advanced terrain then you will need to drive up to Mt. Bohemia in the UP of Michigan.

I have never been to Alpine. I have been to Wilmot and it sucks more then anything. Raging Buffalo is right by my house and I will be there a lot this year. Not really a bad place if you are just looking to get some days in.

Granite Peak in Wausau is the best in Wisconsin.
WI Alpine, Wilmont, Sunburst.... meh. Ok, but small Grand Genieva... even smaller Devils Head, Cascade.... longer runs Tyrol... small but great park Granite Peak... HUGE (for WI) IL Raging Buffalo... all park, 100ft vert, only tow rope Chestnut...very similar to Alpine/Wilmont 4 Lakes... tiny I still haven't been up to MN or the UP... but I've heard good things :) |

^ Granite Peak is probably the most expensive as well.
I've had a season pass at DH. The lifts are slower than Cascade, but it's usually less crowded since it is further off the highway than Cascade. |
