So, MY friends and I are coming to shred Tahoe Feb 27- march 6..... I am still looking for a decent place to stay. The only real requirements that we have its 3 bed rooms and has a kitchen...... so any insight on some decent places to stay (without sky rocket prices) would be sweet!! thanks guys!

i'm also taking my first trip up there during NYE week. besides resorts to ride at, any recommendations on places to stay, party, visit, dine...etc? planning on staying in the south tahoe area

don't know much about south lake but I hear KB (king beach) has a hotel with really really cheap rates for week night like 40$ for two queens. I lived up there so it wasn't ever really something I looked into, this year I'm going to be all over snow camping.

In Northlake tahoe you have 2 options:
cheap motels or renting a cabin.
For hotels the best value is:
Tahoe Inn
9937 N Lake Blvd
Kings Beach, CA 96143 (530) 546-3341 I think rooms are $39
This is great because the hotel is right next to bus routes, food and casinos
If you are ballin, do the ritz-carton (ski in/out at Northstar) www.ritzcarlton.com
Option two is to rent a condo/hotel
I reccomend the aspen grove condos at Northstar:
you can get a two or three bed condo for cheap. call 1800 GO NORTH or visit www.northstarattahoe.com
Another place to find cabins is www.enjoytahoe.com. My buddy Justin is an agent there so ask for him if you call in.

Harrahs casino or a cheaper option at the horizon casino

In Truckee there is also a Best Western and a Hampton Inn.
In Incline Village there is a Hyatt.
Then you have all the little mom and pop places along the lake too.

right when you cross the border to north shore theres a hamburger joint ajoined with a casino. i just rememember a good salmon burger and ortega burger i believe. Dont eat any hamburger joints in kings beach, they suck, bad. atleast 4 years ago. |

myself & 2 other mates (between the ages of 21-23) are also heading to South Tahoe from 30th Dec- 20th Jan. havent booked accom or anything as of yet. only flights. we are going to ride heavenly.
just wondering if anyone has any general information to share.. where are the good pubs, clubs, house parties at.. where to avoid, whats worth checkin out in the area... etc.. this will be our first trip to states riding- only ever riden New Zealand & Australian resorts- so super pumped to get over there for some decent action.

I stayed at GRS last Feb. Awesome time. About 30-40 min to the parking lots of the mountains. We had 2 rooms, 3 nights, 5 adults, 3 kids, and 11 lift tickets....all split down the middle, $550 ea between me and my friend. Hit up Squaw twice and Alpine Meadows once.
