I was browsing eesa and I noticed a lot of their base layer stuff from last year is marked down huge.  Short and long sleeve shirts from 2.99-4.99.  I ordered about 10-12 items for my girlfriend and I and it came out to around $80 shipped. Smoking deals if you need good quality base layer or casual clothes.

Nice find. I just ordered a bunch of stuff for myself and my boyfriend. It's kind of annoying though when the shipping is like 1/3rd of the cost though <_<

Yeah, I was a little bummed when I paid $20 for shipping, but considering the amount of loot I got, I overlooked it...

Too bad they went out of business.  I couldn't help but thinking it was the likely outcome (even before they failed to update their site), but still sad to see.

Damn they went out of business? Glad I stocked up on the stuff I like...

I remember last year I ordered a bandana from the site and shortly after I got an email saying they didn't have that colorway in stock but to pick a different one, so I did.  When I got my package in the mail, they sent me all three or four different colors in addition to the one I picked.  They also threw in a bunch of stickers and a hand written note apologizing for not having what I ordered.  I was pretty impressed.

Good find.

I wish they would just say sold out right away until you actually look at it and then select color and size and then it says sold out...

I didn't know that until I read what you wrote. I'll have to ask the local eesa rep (or former rep as it is) what happened.

Thanks to the OP for posting the find!

Yeah... Eesa sadly went out of business. I wish they'd stuck around just to make socks... their socks are the BEST!
I have a crap load of their layers from the local (former) rep... but yeah, take advantage of the closeout prices because they're stuff is SO comfy and I love it!!

I'll buy socks for sure when they go on sale!  I'll probably buy more shirts too if they mark them all down.

Looks like Dogfunk just got a new shipment of socks, but nothing else... not sure if that means they're still making socks, or if they made one last batch of socks and just sold them.

To be clear (as these things can spin out of control on the interweb), it is true that Eesa shut its doors. They did
not go Chapter 11, screw their reps and dealers over or be bought out by k2. Basically the founder/head of Eesa got
a deal that he could not refuse to work for a company.

Nice work finding the sale pre-launch :)

Later this week, the full story will be up on the Media section. Ya heard.

Yeah I wish these guys would've been able to make it trhu, but with the economy being what it is and being a small company kinda figured this would happen.  Cleary seems like a solid dude, glad to hear that he's landing on his feet.  There socks are definately the real deal, the layering pieces are hot or miss.  I loaded up on some layering pieces.  Thanks for the heads up

Depends.  Their base layers are relatively tight.  Their casual pieces can be pretty baggy, but I think some of them are more fitted.  They have a sizing chart for everything.

Thanks, I’ll just be snagging the base layers and like those to fit a bit tight.

Also, do there socks have any wool in them? I’d like to grab some for the lady, but she’s allergic to wool.

I don't think so, I know the ones I've had are fully synthetic.  They might have certain socks in the line that integrate different materials though, so you might want to email them.

yes. I got that last week... I even wrote and gave a compliment... they wrote again thanking and letting me know the socks were going on sale this week (I ordered on the 6th)... so, they said it was gonna be sent during the week, but I never got a shipping confirmation email.
I emailed yesterday about the problems trying to order socks.
And again today seeing if everything is ok... and asking about shipping confirmation.

I can't justify paying $31 for ground shipping for thermals... I just wasted time building up a cart. As much as I love EESA, I just can't pull the trigger...

That's too bad they went out of business, they seemed like a great company with some sweet gear.

I'm kind of confused about the socks, I can't add them either. Are you guys saying they're not on sale yet, but will go on sale this week (week of Dec. 13th)?

So has anyone gotten more info or heard back from them? I'm ready to order right now, but I don't want to if the socks are just going to go on sale later, since it's a lot cheaper for shipping to buy stuff in one order instead of two.

I sent them an e mail, and cleary has responded..

Here is my story,  I ordered layering/shirts/ etc. and tried to order socks, socks didn't go through.  I sent them an e mail after I ordered, hoping they could add the socks in my box to avoid more shipping costs (they charge quite a bit for shipping) I got an e mail saying they cannot just add socks, that I would have to order them online (at this time my package hasn't shipped yet) and they will refund my shipping cost.  I tried to order again, and again it didn't work.  So I e-mailed them again (they don't answer their phone)  that So I sent them another e-mail stating that the socks ordering still doesn't work, and to just throw in 2 pairs of socks (doesn't matter what style).  this is the e mail i got

Hey xxxxxxxl, hang tight socks are going to be at blow-out prices asap - we're having a glitch with the system.  You'll have to put your order through online.
we don't control the shipping, it set-up through fedex and ups.m t

This situation really sucks,  because they charge $13 for shipping, even if they make the socks $1.00 each, it would still cost more because of the ridiculous shipping.

That's what I mean... the posts above say the socks can't be added currently, and that they're going to go on sale later this week. I take it that later this week it will be fixed and you'll be able to add them to your cart, meaning that's when they'll go on sale at 4.99....
