Looks like google street view may be coming to a resort near you.  Would be pretty cool to checkout trails before going on a trip.

wow, pretty neat.  in some of those streetview shots for whistler, there's a skier following the streetview snowmobile.  kinda annoying.

Very cool stuff.  Mount Hood Meadows has something similar to this, but only for a few trails:

http://www.skihood.com/The-Mountain/360-Video-Tours

It's a guy with a 360 degree camera strapped to his head, skiing down a few trails.  You can rotate the camera around with the video either paused or playing.

Brilliant. I was recently talking to my manager about this exact idea. It'd be cool to open Googlemaps on your iPhone and find or plan a route via street view while on the chair lift.

Wow, thank so much for the post OP.  I just spent an hour going through various runs at Whistler, looks amazing.  Hoping to get out there this winter and this will help plan some runs out

that is awesome, it would be nice to be able to show my non riding friends/relatives what we see at the slopes. Hopefully entice them to start riding as well.

I was told by a member of ski patrol near the end of the season that Stowe was looking into doing this for next season.

but doesn't pretty much every view look like some snow with trees around it?  besides, seems like it'd be hard to track a view on something so dynamic as snow.

I like it.  We're making leaps and bounds with technology now a days.  I'm glad we can apply some of that to snowboarding.

I know a few resorts that have this on their websites already. Plus there's a company MySnowPro.com where you can rent the helmet cam and stream it to all your friends, with them having the ability to look around 360 from your helmet.

Blimey, if google carries on like this, pretty soon, you'll be able to type someones name in and check up their nostrils.

Good stuff
