buying boots online without having at least tried the brand and range on before hand is just going to end up in returns.
Each "last" is going to have volume and shape issues. Companies produce entire ranges of boots, just for one foot type.
Are you high or low volume?
Big toe box? narrow ankle? Does your foot spread under load?
Do you need arch support or motion control?
pronate? Over? Under?
perhaps you have "6th toe"
The best thing to do is go try on a few pairs, there is a feel to a boot. Save yourself time and money by getting a good starting point.
I know exactly know big my feet are, and I still could not tell you if a 101 mm footwidth would fit me.

Is there a correct way to measure the foot for snowboard boots? It'd be nice to get actuals vs just going by "sizes" different manufacturers put out. No two fit the same...
