I just watched this video and straight started tearing up.  I've lost friends growing up and can't imagine losing my boys in something like this.  I know tahoe has been getting hit with crazy amounts of snow so this could totally happen.  In fact i saw a snowslide a couple of weeks ago on the way to kwood and saw 3 cars get buried under the snow.

Ride safe everybody!

that vid is for real.  I was riding that day and even riding off the side of groomers was extremely dangerous.  It was so deep, if you fell wrong, you could find your head under several feet of heavy, "sierra cement" snowDead

I am happy to say that I think most of my shred buddies would do the same (including myself for them)...

that guy made it back up there so damn fast considering how much snow there was... wow. getting around in pow is NOT easy. props to him, I cant imagine how much adrenaline was flying during those moments.

i think most strangers would do that for you. I dont think you need awesome bff's to come and pull you out of the snow. Anyone that sees you vanish probably wont think "ah, he'll figure it out, ive got POW to ride!" :) Still, reminds you of the dangers. Because im the only one of my mates thats really into this game, im always messing around on my own in the trees, definitely makes me think twice.

I actually almost hate watching stuff like this.  I don't even want it in my mind, ''That which you fear the most will come to pass"

Kinda like I won't watch replays of motorcyce crashes etc.

So glad that guy's friends got there and everything was ok though.

I thought he made it out safely.  If so why is that in there?

Wow, so glad that everyone was okay. That was some serious shit.
@ Heavenly, my boy Alex (least experienced of the three) dropped his glove while we were on the lift. So, Jesse and I lead him down to retrieve his glove. Usually, the run under the lift is pretty difficult. Alex barely made it, it was funny watching him fall every other turn he does. Jesse and I had no problem until near the end of that run. Jesse was ahead but I can see he might get himself to trouble, so I yelled "STaY TO THE RRRRRRRRRRRIGHT!". During my scream, I already passed him and Alex is still lacking behind. By the time I came to a stop, I see Alex, but I don't see Jesse. I unstrapped the fastest I've ever did and ran up. I stopped Alex and asked him where Jesse was, and he replied "I dunno... I thought he was wit you!". I didn't even think and kept running up the run. When I got up halfway to Jesse (I seriouly ran 1/8 mile in snow, but felt like a mile), he finally popped up. It was a nice day, a thin layer of powder. So, he didn't fell in powder but it was the water pipeline that created a hole around it and there's a cold water stream running under the hole and he didn't see it from where he was. He rode over the thin layer and straight fell in as if there were nothing there. Good thing he was a big dude, and pull himself out. But it took a while. If he couldn't, he would of got hypothermia. It would of taken me at least 3-4 mins to get to him, and the whole time, I was sweating that I wouldn't be able to get to him in time. It was my biggest relief that I saw his head popped up finally. Alex said later that I was more scare than Jesse ever was. Well, yea, I was the driver that day and felt that bringing everyone home in one piece is my responsibility. Plus, within the last 5 months, I lost 5 love ones. I wasn't ready to lose another. So, I was shitting my pants the whole time when Jesse was in the hole.
Ride safe everyone and have fun. Well its getting to spring conditions pretty soon, so most of us won't have to worry bout deep powda for the rest of the season.

Its okay, I get to shred it all out. A few days before that, I got a bad news that my boy, Tim, fell asleep @ the wheel while he was driving back to the house from work late in the evening and crashed into a tree. The good news was that he was unconscious during the accident. Anyway, when I was shredding Heavenly that weekend, I felt that he was riding wit me. I know, it's weird, but I swear he was by my side that day. I felt goose bumps and everything. I had the best riding day ever, I felt like I can do anything and everything. I was puttind down 180 butters and 3's off little kickers like a mofo.

RIP Tim. Miss you dawg.

btw, I didn't shit my pants, almost... almost.

It said RIP CR Johnson because he died recently skiing. He used to coach one of my friends skiing and its just a tradgedy.

This video would be so scary if I didn't know the guy was going to live. Oh my god that was crazy and I'm glad he made it out fine.

CR johnson was a pro skiier who recently died at squaw valley, which was an unrelated incident but they wanted to pay their respects. Crazy video, awesome friends. Great instincts to know the guy was buried right when it happened. if he had skiied down just a little longer he probably wouldnt have been able to get up to him.
