Yeah I saw the update on Monday. Also Expert Members seems to also get free binding (which I believe it is an upgrade from a free snowboard). But you need to selected to be an expert, so I guess it doesn't really fall under earning points.

I can't wait for all the bugs to be ironed out regarding the new point system. Any discount on stuff you are going to buy anyway is MUY BUENO.

Agree any further discounts from what it already is is awesome. Just gives me more money on more gear. Hoping I'll get my 10% discount soon.

The points system and free giveaway is certainly buying my business. I log in daily for the giveaway and to check the forums and end up buying so much stuff. 

this is hands down the best customer oriented retail website i've come across. a lot of places offer discount but you have to pay up front. this site just wants you to interact with other members of a niche community (which you should be wanting to do anyways). to sierra. way to bring together people from all over the world.

New board & bindings just shipped today from sierra. Too bad I gotta wait til next year to ride it. Would have never gotten the price i got at the start of the season though . Get them while they're still there, lost out on 3 other choices waiting to get my funds together .

Why is everyone so concerned with points? Oh, it makes you a better rider, so I'm now one point better of a rider. Sweet!!

I like to take the glass half-full approach of thinking that SS values community involvement so much that they're willing to give $60 worth of points per day for being an active forum member.

Rather than changing that, it might be good to find ways to award points based on promoting SS, or encouraging quality posts versus just five posts.  Perhaps something like post votes or karma, with 3 points being given if a post is rated helpful by 5 members, or one expert member.
