Topic: How to earn member points- Posted: Jun/06/2010 at 5:57pm |

you don't need to buy anything. you just need to put the shirt you want into your cart and add the coupon code. yes you do need to pay for shipping unless you buy other gear that gets you above 100 (free ship mark if you're in the US)

i dont think thats really fair when they say a free t-shirt it should mean a free t-shirt not one you have to pay shipping that takes away the whole purpose of saying its free

Congratulations on your first post. Technically it is a free t-shirt since you don't have to pay for it. Otherwise Sierra would say free t-shirt and free shipping. But since they don't say that then, it's fair. Welcome to the forum.

Free is free. It says its a free t-shirt and it is. They don't say free shipping (even though they have heaps of free shipping deals both for US and International customers). Stop being so ungrateful.

@gezza - dude, don't forget to post and write reviews. Being a part of the community gains you points. Check out your profile, it will give you the details. I'll be writing up a review for my first purchase when I hit the snow in a week or two (new board).

@PowderMonkey, discount is ongoing.
@vasnowboarder, AFAIK, no value limit, as the coupon is for a Sierra branded tshirt (currently out of stock). If your coupon expires, PM little ole me to extend.

you can earn points by:
1-buying
2-posting
3-logging on
5-product review
u dont lose the points after you obtain the freebie, it still accumulates to the next level

Do we have to be experts to write reviews? I wouldn't mind sharing some views on the stuff I bought but i'm no expert...

There are heaps of threads on reviews. Basically, if you review a scraper or a bandana, you have a good chance of it being flagged as spam. The key rule is to write an informative review, that someone can use to make an informed decision. Comparisons are great, I've got a Signal Omni (currently) and a Sierra Crew (coming), so once I have both I'll write up about the differences.
Don't review saying "the colours are great", instead you could say "the colours are lighter/darker than the photos", etc. If it takes you 2 mins to write a review, you may wish to rethink.

with the free stuff
does the value of the free stuff still add to the total value of the cart to get free shipping?
Or would I have to spend $500 and add the free shirt to it?

Has to be Sierra branded. There was a short period where that wasn;t the rule...but, it's a rule that makes a lot of sense

Don't remember points for answering questions in Chat. if they did, was probably a while ago.

You don't have to own an item, but you need to have a good amount of time to experience the product. The point of reviews is to help other people, not to give out points for clicking a few buttons. Also, just because you own a product, doesn't mean you can automatically can write a good review. If you own a jacket and the review is something like, "I like it." The review is worthless.

You can check this on the member points tab, at the bottom of the page under customer service.

Theres been a few threads on this. I dont think you can buy any shirt anymore, you could for a time being but not now. Keep the coupon and when they restock the shirts you can pm your code to a staff member to get them to extend the expiry date.

No...but it has to be Sierra branded. None of those are particularly expensive.

Yep... 1. Go to your profile 2. Look on the left where it says "Member Points", click "see all" 3. Check out "Total Points Earned"

if you reach 200 points, do you get a shirt and keep the points, or do you lose them?
