    Posted: Mar/12/2010 at 7:14pm
i'm stuck in the flat ass midwest. I'm dying to get out to a real mountain, but where should i go? for some reason, i feel that i need to go somewhere where there is a gondola and that can provide me a good 10 minutes of riding before even thinking of getting on the lift. Im thinking somewhere out west, Utah or Colorado? i doubt i could get out to cali. Maybe Killington up in the NE?

what are your thoughts? this would be next year for sure. My season is over :(
this makes me mad

Your best bet is to head out west. You will find the things you are looking for in pretty much any of the states west. You don't need a place with a gondola, it is not really a requirement for long runs.

Just got back from Breck it was sooo nice!! I didnt stay long enough to snowboard all the peaks. It was snowing pretty hard out in breck on thurs it was so nice! I was also in keystone for 2 days which is like a hour north of breck. Keystone was super nice too! It snowed the 2 days I was out there too and I did a night session it was so nice out! I didnt want to go back home lol but you should really try and hit those mountains they wont disappoint :) Oh and in keystone there is a pizza/bar place that had 50 cent beer night!!

Summit County is a great place because you have about 10 diferent mountains to ride within an hour. You Could work for Breck or Keystone and that gets you a 6 mountain pass to Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, Beaver Creek, Vail and Heavenly. I worked at Keystone as a lifty and rode all the time. I still work for the company 10 years later.
