    Posted: Mar/20/2010 at 12:17pm
i know these are super hard to find in medium.  sierra is sold out, as is porters, and most others seem to only come in small and sometimes large.

these are all brand new in the box.  paypal or credit card...

***EST bindings DO NOT come with ICS hardware***

all sizes are medium, and all listed prices are to the US.  will ship to canada and overseas for the extra cost of shipping.

$195 shipped - 2009 Cartel EST, black (matched the 2009 custom board), two pairs - SOLD

$225 shipped - 2009 Triad EST, black/gold - SOLD

$180 shipped - 2010 Exile EST (coalition color)

$220 shipped - 2010 Infidel EST - SOLD

Dont quite get the quotes on the Infidels. The things that give me life are water, and my mother at one point.

I read somewhere that the quote on the infidels came from these two guys (who work for Burton?) while they were talking about relationship problems. One of them said "the thing that give me life is the thing that kills me" in an offhand, passing manner. They decided it would look sick on a binding, since it's sort of true for relationships and snowboarding (I guess). Like getting frustrated, in a rut, having to work through it, etc.

Anyway, i might be wrong, just what I read.

As applied to snowboarding, when are you truly having fun? Feeling alive? When you are pushing it going through trees at speed or taking on booters just above your skill level. You feel the most alive then, but at any moment it could kill you (or hurt you).

Dig the quote.

I really really hope someone grabs the Infidels soon.
  • It'd be pretty lame if I bought a pair of bindings for the damn quotes on the highbacks.
  • I swore off Burton gear since I was miserable with the ICS / EST system, prevented me from demoing the Capita boards at ShakaPalooza.

im selling them through my shop.. theyre brand new, and we paid a certain wholesale price for them which i cant go below because we cant lose money.  also, given the scarcity of medium EST bindings (especially cartels, and others in general really) i think 30% off + shipping is fair in reality.  people are just too used to sierra prices.

Spenser, I'm still adjusting and playing with my Large 2010 Cartel EST binding. The one I bought during the 50% off sales. It has about 4 days riding time right now.

My questions are:
1. Is yours Medium Cartel EST brand new or used?
2. Would you be willing to do some sort of exchange with my Large Cartel?

Attrox, he's selling these for his shop so an exchange is out of the question, especially an exchange for used bindings. Sorry bro, if you want medium ESTs, be prepared to pay up. They have been and are still in short supply.

I honestly dont think that retailers should be able to post up in the classifieds section of this site.

granted its hard to find mediums anywhere, but its still not good business practice to take business away from a company.

and that quote on the infidels, is from some navy seals.

because the combat that brings them to life is the same thing that takes life away from them. was never written and copy written but if it was burton would have a nice lawsuit on their hands :P

if someone wants medium ESTs and sierra has none, then im not taking any business from them.  that customer isnt going to buy anything if sierra doesnt have what they want (assuming theyre set on that item), and thats the only reason i was posting it.

and mike and i already talked about it.  hes fine with it as long as i dont push someone to buy my ESTs if theyre happy buying something similar from sierra, and i havent done that and wasnt going to, because like you said that would be kinda lame.  he also said if someone is set on medium ESTs, hes "happy to refer them" to this thread.

Spenser, I'm contemplating buying the Infidel ESTs.  Have you ridden the Malavita ESTs and the Infidel ESTs?  If so, how do they compare?

if youre a medium, theres already a sale pending on those, but i still have larges.

havent ridden any ESTs since my 09 cartel ESTs that i only had for a little while... have ridden infidels but not malavitas.  both have the park blend baseplates but infidels are two-piece, and as ive said before i personally like the single piece more.  other than that, malavitas are basically the same from what i can tell, aside from the wing and there might be a couple other small differences.

edit: but were talking about infidel ESTs which are only a single piece baseplate, so theyre even more similar to malavita ESTs.  i think the infidel est has the regular sensory bed while malavitas have sensory bed 2 or whatever.. not sure exactly what that means

I am not sure Spenser can ship to you.  It would be violating his vendor agreement with Burton.
