Forgot to mention, just picked up some new bushings to replace the stock paris bushings at my local shop. They are self lubricating too. Yellow chubbies on bottom, blue barrels on top. Riptide bushings rock!

Its nice that TruSnow just started selling more longboards but it would be sweet if they would sell some stuff from original, bustin and more from loaded.

You can either just use the [ t u b e ] tags, or you can use the [ f l a s h ] tags, which allows you to specify height and width of the video you want to embed. Here's the video you posted: |

Nice! THis was my first year so I didn't do any filming but for sure next year I'll get some shots cause I'm pretty good at freeriding and I can do a lot of freestyle. I'm thinking of buying an Apex 40 next summer too.

Anyone try the Carver boards? They are pretty rad. I cant justify buying one with two longboards in the quiver but I will get one at some point :)

I really need a harder wheel so I can slide more. My wheels are 78A so I can slide but can't stick a standing slide all the time cause I will get stuck halfway through the slide and bail.

My friend has some 86a fat frees he just put on his board, and I actually found my softer 80a zombie hawgz and my new these wheels to slide better than his. Maybe it had to do with his board and how my tomahawk has foot pockets, but I'm not sure. I was at my local shop today and decided to pick up some these wheels, and man are they great. They were leaving a weird blackish thane line, but it wasn't shedding any thane off the wheel really. But the name is so confusing for people

Were your wheels more broken in than his? that could be why they slid better.

No mine were brand new, just put on, and his were broken in a little. But he thought he was sliding better on my board because my trucks were looser. He doesn't have flat washers in his bears, and so the washers were really thick and he couldn't loosen the trucks too much, because if he did the nut would fall off because it didn't have enough room on the kingpin, if that makes any sense

dpboarder98, yeah i know what you are saying. My trucks used to be mad tight but I loosened them up a bunch and then I could slide way easier.
^And those wheels look sick, how much are they and what do you think their best for? |

They were $70 which is definitely high but I got talked into it. They are supposed to last as long as two sets of other wheels though, and the my local shop said they are really hard to get. After almost a week of cruising and sliding they haven't coned or worn down at all really. They are freeride wheels and they do a great job at it. They are super smooth but can still throw a great slide out when you want them to. They break traction well and I feel like I have a lot of control of them, they won't slide out at all. They definitely seem to live up to their expectations so far though

That is a bit pricey but then again if they last as long as they are expected to then its probably a good investment.

Anyone know the widest trucks out there? I'm finding 200mm, but nothing bigger. I want to make my own mountain board with a drop through deck but I'm worried I won't have the clearance for 3.75" wide wheels with an 8 or 9" deck. Any thoughts?

@snowj720 Original sells trucks that are really wide. The S10's are 250mm but they are pretty pricey ($74). I've never seen any that size or bigger than them so thats the best I can do for you. hope this helped and you find some, I'll keep an eye out for ya and let you know if i see some.

I am all about the cruisers. I have a sector nine deck and gull wing trucks. They are awesome they are double pin trucks so I can turn like crazy. I was never really into the sliding, i can do it but i would rather just cruise and chill. I had a loaded dervish but i didnt like how it was so long that it wasnt easy to carry around so i switched to the shorter board. And im lovin it

Ever since I saw that on built to shred I've been wanting to do that. Where did you pick up water skis for that cheap? Garage sale or thrift store maybe?

Yep, a garage sale. This guy sold us 5 for nine bucks. He made them himself and they are really nice and sturdy too. Definitely worth it for what i paid.

thats such a great deal. I bought a snowboard with bindings for my little brother who was 8 years old for $6 at a garage sale.
I saw a $120 longboard on WhiskeyMilitia for $40. I was going to jump on that deal but they sold out so fast. |

Cool, thanks. I was actually hoping for something around that size. That is pricey but have you seen what a good mountain board is complete? $250 and up seems to be the price for a decent one. Is that 74 for one truck or a pair? I need to start looking for them, or just bite the bullet and by a cheapo complete, but I hate to do that when I know I could make what I'm looking for for less.

That's not too bad for a pair. I've seen some that aren't too far off for that price for a single truck. I think it's time for a custom mountain board

I bet you could probably find them for a bit cheaper on some retail websites. And I'll be sure to post pics of the boards as soon as I make them, it will probably be a winter project cause I'm gonna take apart my current board at the end of the season because its starting to split but I can use it till the end of fall.

So I had a pretty close call today skating. I was coming down this road and I went to do a coleman right before a completely blind curve which wasn't the best idea. I drifted a couple feet into the other lane mid-slide, and a guy in a big van flew around the curve and slammed on the brakes like 10 feet from me. I fell, snatched my board and ran to the side of the road and just waved at him
It was so close haha

Yeah thats always scary. I ride this one hill thats a steep dogleg right and we always keep a spotter at the corner because you cant see a thing around the corner because there are trees in the way.

Yeah, I hate it when there are blind spots and you can't see anything when you turn the corner. I'm always afraid that I might hit something or somebody. |

Its definitely super sketchy. And this road is steep, narrow and its a real sharp turn so its hard to try to stay in the right lane when sliding.

Absolutely. I'm looking to buy a new board sometime this winter while they're cheap and I was looking at an Original Apex 40 for the longest time. Now I've been thinking of going with the Bustin Boombox instead. Its gonna be a tough decision.

Can't go wrong with Bustin....
I've not yet ridden a Boombox, but I own the Strike and the Complex. I prefer the length of the complex, but both boards are exceptional. |

Either of the boards seem great. I've rode the Apex 40 and I like it, and my friend rips on his. I want to try a Bustin really bad but I just haven't had the chance.
So my friend was wanting a longboard, and came to school today with a Dervish, Paris 180's and some old In-heats that he found at a pawn shop for $75 and I was so jealous

Its gonna be a tough choice but I figure I can't go wrong either way.
On another note I made a pair of sliding gloves a few weeks ago and they work great. All I did was velcro snowboard binding disks to a pair of work gloves. I'm having trouble uploading the picture of it now but I'll upload it later. They look mad sketchy but work great. |
