If you can ski black diamonds, Cupp Run and Shay's Revenge are a must. They sometimes don't get them open until January though. 1.5 miles long of fun for sure. On the front side widowmaker is good, and J-hook is a nice cruiser.

I was up there last weekend and conditions were great. All the trails were groomed on Saturday but the snow was nice and Sunday it was snowing all day so there was some nice powder. I wish I could head back this weekend.

Hello everyone,
I might be goin up to snowshoe soon, my girlfriends family owns a freakin house up there (SWEET) and i was wondering if i should just get a ticket for snowshoe or silver creek or both? from what i can tell of the map on their website it looks like the areas are divided...so how do u get from one to another?

Pretty sure a day pass at snowshoe gets you access to both during the day, and silver creek at night.  I can't be sure though cause I've always had a season pass.  But you can take a shuttle from snowshoe to silver creek and vice versa, or you can drive.

^^Yep.  You can't buy a Silver Creek only ticket.  They don't offer half day tickets either so it's valid from 9am to 9:30 pm.

would love to hit up the shoe since I live in SC...but the NC High Mtns have had a great season so far....most resorts have over 90" of real snow so far....

The question is how long will this season last...

Too bad snowshoe is known for grooming most of what they get.  I'm hoping there are still some stashes left when I get there friday morning.  I feel bad cause the professor I have class with on friday, which I'll be skipping, is the same professor I had on fridays last spring, and skipped his class as well.

The beginning of april is a great time. The sun could be shinning, and it wont be to cold outside. I have always had the best time in the spring.

^i wouldnt think so. some hills in NC are some of the first to open in the east. They also get earlier snowfall in the snowshoe area.

^^ yea i wouldnt take a 4 day trip to snowshoe at this point in time, unless they magically get a snowstorm to dump on them....a day or 2 wouldnt be bad, but there isnt even close to enough snow there to make a 4 day trip worthwhile

Cuervo weekend at Snowshoe was interesting...

Got in Thursday night and Friday was sunny and turned a little slushy in the afternoon, but definitely a good day.  Got in some good Mountaineer time at Silver Creek for night riding.

Saturday weather was questionable but we turned it into a blast... woke up to THICK fog... so thick that you couldn't see jumps in the park when you dropped but that didn't keep us from hitting them.  Rode 'shoe until about 11:30am and headed over to Silver Creek since the lines started getting longer and we wanted to hit Mountaineer anyway.  At about 7 deep, we destroyed the park until it started raining and then kept pushing... we have a lot of video but I don't have access to the edits... it rained all night and turned into snow Sunday morning.

Sunday, was crazy... started out with snow mixed with a little rain and then only snow from about 10am into the night.  I rode from 8:30am until about 10:30 and went in soaking wet.  Decided to take a nap and when I woke up, it was dumping large flakes.  Went out to a lot of fresh and very few people were out (I'm assuming due to the rain).  But by this time, it was like it had never rained.  Night riding at Silver Creek was sick... all fluff and no hard spots anywhere.
