damn i wish it was like that 2 weekends ago, we got the snow mix as you described in the morning but it never turned into the snow you have there...i heard the area is actually supposed to get a little bit more snow this weekend, maybe there is hope that i can make one more trip up this season

Damn, snowshoe is also closing on March 13? I'm thinking of going to Roundtop or Whitetail this weekend but there's a lot of brown spots on the slopes. Roundtop is looking better than Whitetail in terms of brown spots.

there's an awesome snowshoe/x-country ski place around tahoe called tahoe XTC...lots of trails, warming huts w/ hot cocoa, and cheap!

Well since it is in BFE WV everything is owned by the resort, but the lodge at the base is pretty reasonable and expedition house on top of the mountain are cheapest.  They run a lot of specials if you call a couple weeks in advance with lift, lodging deals.  My last trip in march I paid $900 for 5 days and lifts for 4 days for two ppl....  Staying in the village.

See I don't know how I feel about that.  I had to look up which trail skidway is, because I don't know any of the trails by name haha.  The lift that services that trail is the one that is always the least crowded when snowshoe gets packed, and Yew Pine on the other side of skidway always has some decent tree runs that my friends and I will ride a lot when there is enough snow.  Moving the park over there is just going to make that area more crowded...

Given this post was almost two months ago so I dunno if you'll see it, but I highly recommend not spending the time/money to head to snowshoe coming down from Jersey.  You're much better off staying in Jersey or going somewhere in PA.  Vermont/NH/Maine are all much bigger than Snowshoe, and in my opinion, much better.

I've been fortunate to only go up there midweek 90 % of the time I go there.I could understand your concearn sintexo.That place gets bashed a lot for being crowded , and taxed .It has some legit tree stashes.I just get a midweek plus  pass for $349 and If I'm ever there for a weekend hang over at the creek where the pass is valid anyday.

Ah, going to school doesn't really give me that option.  Sometimes if we go up on a thurs night and skip classes on friday, we can get in some good riding in the morning before the regular weekend crowd shows up.  But we are mostly there fri-sun so it can get pretty shitty.  I like trying to stick to western territory when there is snow for some sweet tree runs there.  Although if ski patrol catches you you will probably get in trouble.

On sundays we don't even bother going all the way up to snowshoe, and just stick to silvercreek until we head back to tech.
