'02 Olds Bravada with 120k miles. I've put on over 40k in the last year year and a half driving around MI/IN/OH for work. Amazingly the beast gets 22-25 mpg hwy. Going to hold on to this baby until she dies and can't be resurrected. However, I'm planning on buying my future mom-in-law's '08 Ford Fusion in September. We don't really need two cars, but I'm getting a great price on it and hopefully a job at Ford in June.
Being Michigan born and bred... it's like a sin to drive anything foreign. A lot of my family works for Ford and my boyfriend's family works for GM (all the way back to his great grandparents who moved up to Flint in the 30's to work at Buick.) |

There's a lot of people here with obviously a lot more money than I have...I'm not ashamed to admit I drive a 2004 Hyundai Elantra GT. 115000 kms and still going strong.

Dude my Alero has 114000 miles on it. I was so proud when I rolled over 100000. Spent the enitre night with my wife driving around just so I'd hit it. Very good moment in my life.

I'm from Michigan and have never even been in a foreign car. I thought that was a 50,000 dollar car, I guess I'm wrong. It still has tons of mods and seems to be worth more than 25,000? <---My bike is worth close to 25k

Im saying they start at $85700 base and a GT-R starts at $84k, I was just joking around since theyre basically the same price like you stated.
and mods usually dont add to the price of a vehicle, most people get the same or more for an untouched car or atleast thats how it is around me. |

Just for giggles, I have the original invoice from my car. The first owner bought it when it first came out and they were on a two year waitlist for $110,000. I guess he really wanted an M5. Sticker on it back then was 75ish with the options. I bought it in 03 for a lot less.
Now that I have racked up 150,000 miles on it, its probably barely worth 12k. M5 values drop like a freaking rock when they get older since the maintenance can be incredibly expensive. I.e, a REFURBISHED motor from BMW is $23,000, more than the value of the car. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever buy an M5 (or M3 IMHO) that has not been owned by an enthusiast who took care of it. Either that, or learn how to do stuff yourself. I have probably saved close to 10k over the years just by doing the services myself on it. Anyone who wants to give me 25 grand for it is welcome too, I would probably just buy another one with lower miles though. The Nissan GTR is a pretty sick car, its growing on me a lot now that the tranny issues have largely been sorted out. I was kinda hoping it would have Z06 like resale values, but that doesn't appear to be happening since Nissan is keep production really low. Rumors are only 315 coming into the usa this year. |

Just for fun, I decided to see what my car is worth now. $14,500. Pretty much what I expected, considering I bought it brand new 3 years ago for $21,000. I only owe $7,000 on it.

Holy cow! I just looked to see how much our Element is worth, and it's worth more than we paid for it! We bought it used (with 6k miles on it) for $17,500 and kbb says it's worth $19,980 with the mileage we have on it now.

The E39 M5 is a classic BMW. The E60 M5 is another good buy. Prices on those are coming down, especially with the upcoming release of the F10 M5 (V8 TT). As for the GT-R, I think it's meh I'd get an M6, 997 911tt, 04 Gallardo or an 04 360 before I'd get a GT-R. I guess you could say that I prefer European cars. ![]() |
