Hey since mammoth is kind of staying open late i want to do a little trip over there.  Does ne1 know of a decent place to stay that is pretty cheap, like a college income level cheap?

Is there a late season or college discount this time of year? I'd like to make my way up to Mammoth too, except for dirt cheap.
Howdy y'all

Motel 6. It's maybe $70 - $90 a night, depending on when you stay.

Motel 6 will set up back $75 for two beds (I was just there a week ago and that was the midweek price). Or you can drive to Bishop and find a place for around $50. I've stayed at the Trees motel in Bishop and I think it was $50 for a room with two beds.

Personally I'd rather drive back to Bishop than stay at the Motel 6 in Mammoth. The temperature control system in the Motel 6 totally sucks and if you stay there for more than one night you will be totally dried out and get nose bleeds and shit. This is from somebody who has been going to Mammoth for many seasons.

motel 6 is cheap, but don't expect anything other than your basics and I mean basic necessity.  Just a shower and a full sized bed.

Yeah, I heard motels are cheap but you just have to make the drive to the slopes.

what makes you think the days inn will be cheap at Mammoth?  All the budget motels are priced similarly there so I don't see why the days inn would be significantly cheaper.

Yeah the Days Inn is about $70 bucks a night in Bishop but the Travelodge in Mammoth is only $52 and you don't have to do the drive that you hate :]
