update: just got back

monday was awesome, snow was packed powder and the entire mountain was pretty empty so my buddies and i had the whole place to ourselves.

tuesday (today) was horrible.  105mph winds shut down the entire mountain except for beginner lift.  good thing we found the south park section which had 1 chair running.  ended up leaving early since it was so icey and windy

still a great trip

yeah, definitely a lot lot of snow.  no rocks and the only little tiny dirt patches ull see in at the bottom of the park runs near the base.   the rest of the mountain is great coverage.

Aside from being slushy, how dirty/grimy was the snow?

accuweather.com shows no snow for 15 days out. Next weekend (May 14) temps are going up to 70s. But, have fun up there if you are going!
Did you google it?

I think 9 opening last weekend was sort of a fluke (though I hope not).  I wouldn't count on that without checking first.

Yeah, I just checked.  It's the West Coast Invitational.  Go to the Mammoth home page and at the bottom, under "Big Events," you can get the details...

Once you get into late April and beyond, the snow tends to get slushy and sticky, but not unbearably so, however, its supposed to snow the next 2 days, so it maybe fantastic, all i have had at my house is rain in SoCal, but im supposed to get nearly a foot of new snow. Mammoth should quite a bit if that comes true.

@dnbreaks - got your invite.  Thanks!  That's sweet, more snow.

I hope they extend eagle and canyon to at least april 24.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed but i doubt it's going to happen.

BTW Mammoth got close to two feet of snow yesterday with more on the way. April is shaping up to be a bigger snow month than March was.

@hana24 - thanks!

@dnbreaks - sent you a PM

Haven't been able to board due to my work having us to work a lot of hours during the first quarter of the year.  Want to ride one last time before the season's over.

Costco has the 3 of 4 day pass for $175?  I don't remember the exact price.  Or find someone with an MVP pass and ask them for a bring a friend benefit which brings the cost of the ticket to $55 a day.

I'm an MVP and I still have a bunch of bring a friend benefits left. PM me with your first and last name and email and I can send you the link tonight when I get home from work (I need to look up my pass number).

Mammoth at the end of April should still be good. They got about a foot overnight, so there will still be plenty of snow. Half the mountain will be closed though, because they always close canyon and eagle lodges in the middle of April regardless of snow conditions.
