Is the snow still nice in May and June? I'm thinking of going too, but won't be able to until May.

with a 160 inch base and more snow coming next week, I think you're good.  Only thing will be it could be slushy/slow if the temps are high on that particular day, but the snow is definitely there...bigtime

I was thinking of flying to go down to mammoth in May.  All the mountains that are usually open till May here are closed due to recent 90 degree weather.

Costco has the 3 of 4 day pass for $175?  I don't remember the exact price.

Or find someone with an MVP pass and ask them for a bring a friend benefit which brings the cost of the ticket to $55 a day.

I'm an MVP and I still have a bunch of bring a friend benefits left. PM me with your first and last name and email and I can send you the link tonight when I get home from work (I need to look up my pass number).

Mammoth at the end of April should still be good. They got about a foot overnight, so there will still be plenty of snow. Half the mountain will be closed though, because they always close canyon and eagle lodges in the middle of April regardless of snow conditions.

@hana24 - thanks!

@dnbreaks - sent you a PM

Haven't been able to board due to my work having us to work a lot of hours during the first quarter of the year.  Want to ride one last time before the season's over.

BTW Mammoth got close to two feet of snow yesterday with more on the way. April is shaping up to be a bigger snow month than March was.

@dnbreaks - got your invite.  Thanks!  That's sweet, more snow.

I hope they extend eagle and canyon to at least april 24.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed but i doubt it's going to happen.

Once you get into late April and beyond, the snow tends to get slushy and sticky, but not unbearably so, however, its supposed to snow the next 2 days, so it maybe fantastic, all i have had at my house is rain in SoCal, but im supposed to get nearly a foot of new snow. Mammoth should quite a bit if that comes true.

Yeah, I just checked.  It's the West Coast Invitational.  Go to the Mammoth home page and at the bottom, under "Big Events," you can get the details...

I hope that the OP went there this weekend as planned because the conditions are great. I think they are still running chairs 4, 5 and 9 on the weekends so although two lodges are closed most of the terrain is still accessible.
