Some people are whining, complaining, and ranting about Sierra. Some people say "I was waiting for 80% off but the sale ended and are now out of stock(or back down to 50)". I believe this is horrible. You guys should be praising Sierra becuase there is no place like it for snowboard gear. Maybe a website might be trying to through away something they don't like well, Sierra does that with almost everything in stock. Like the 70% off sale that was pretty amazing because a website shouldn't have to do it but is because it wants to be fair, sell boards, and move inventory. When they are sales though, they are huge margins of their inventory not just one snowboard or and clothing brand. Sierra is fair, if you think so you should leave or stop trying to be so cheap. Please stop making threads about this 80% off thing, I mean 70% off all boards means stock will be going fast. Just stop over flowing the forums with, "omfg lik I totaly missed the sale becuz I wanted 80% off" trying to make 80% off because 70 is enough.

If they have what I want, I would pay the 50% price. I can get my stuff at other sites now for 40%, but I rather throw my money here. Will hold out for next season's Capita Boards.

I second this notion. Sometimes you gotta take it as it comes. And sometimes you have to buy something when it is in stock. That's life its not fair most of the time but you just gotta live.. Amen brother.

Most arent cheap. For some reason this is the nature of man. We get deals then dont realize it used to be worse. This is my first year of boarding, and before I bought my board I went into all the shops askin about prices. At seasons end I was quoted anywhere from 350-450 for a full set up, boots, board, and bindings. Had I any knowledge of this site, I woulda saved myself some money and got it all here. The shipping time was fine for crossing the whole state and we all know the price was excellent. Not even to mention that the boards they had on sale were not even top of the line boards. I enjoy this site and absolutely love their deals. I get points for logging in and being active here(they dont have to do that), and have the chance to win a free board everyday. Its like they put money back in your pocket just to come here. Thats brilliant. I get knowledge of the sport as well.

I agree, whining about how discounts aren't enough when they're at 50% is pretty ridiculous. However, just playing devil's advocate, I think most people would agree that they would rather pay less for the same item, all else equal, so if I missed a chance to get a board, for example, for 150 dollars, and now, even though it's still heavily discounted, is back up to 250 dollars, I would be pretty upset as well.

Yes you could be upset, but you cant say the company's "bull". I think that was the main factor. You never know when something is gonna go on sale. Moral of the story to me is buy what you actually want. Thats like goin to the grocery store lookin for cereal. Your favorite brands not on sale, and not even on the shelf,so you buy the next one in line. You go back the next day to find out that its now on sale. We wouldnt be gettin mad at the store would we? I know its 2 way different comparisons, but the point being made is the same. Things go on sale, if you really dont want an item, dont buy it. Look for it elsewhere.

I'm definitely not complaining. Set myself, son, and wife up with tons of gear for less than a grand. Probably would have barely got myself covered anywhere else for that amount. Customer for life here.

70% off is already too good to miss... I jumped on a v rocker at 50% off. Good thing too as my size was sold out by the time the 70 came around.

Hes got a point. And besides, sierra allows price adjustments within 30 days of purchase. Its super easy to do, just a few clicks and you get a gift certificate.

Totally, I would never be mad at Sierra, I was just trying to use their logic for why they would get upset at the situation of not getting what they wanted. If they get upset at Sierra though, as you pointed out, that's when it's unacceptable.

but at the same time...Sierra does allow the penny pinchers to actually snowboard.
but definitely...if you're complaining that you were waiting or you were about to buy it and the price went up..that's your problem, not Sierra's. so keep it to yourself.

haha you got to be kidding me...man some people are so ridiculous...totally agree with everyone saying people who were waiting for 80% off and complaining are stupid. They said that 70% off sale was only going to be like 3 days and they extended that for a little longer i believe...ridiculous! I bought this Sessions jacket and it was too big so I sent it back...right when I sent it back they had the 70% off sale...so I lucked out because I got it for another $50 off! Like someone else said...if its on sale for at least 50% off and you want it you should get it then...just lucky to have 70% off and should praise Sierra

Yup, they have gotta draw the line somewhere.  80% would be ridiculous..though if they were going that route, I would have no objection :).

Sierra has little to no competition when it comes to prices, yet they still beat their own prices with their 70% sale.

Sierra already spoils us so much with it's prices, community and daily giveaways, so we in return should be less greedy and more thankful!

Everyone has hope for a cheaper price, we are in a recession. That being said, 70 or even 50 percent off this is awesome. No other recreation store has this kind of deals.

A lot of people wait for this 80% off thing every year.  Last year there were the exact same threads 8itching and moaning.  The thing that sierra has done, has anchored our price expectations to a much lower level than what should be rational.  How often is it that you walk into any store, to find anything at 80% off retail?

I think by the time things went on sale at 80%, you'd only have the dregs of the dregs left, with a few notable exceptions, the Sierra-branded boards specifically.  Honestly, if you didn't want something bad enough to buy it at 70%, you didn't want it bad enough.

obviously sierra's prices are amazing. if not then why would some sites intentionally quote that they do not price match SS. Heck, dogfunk is pretty bad in price matching as they had a board for 30 off and i found the exact same model and size elsewhere for 40% off and they would not match it.LOL

i got all my gear and my gf's gear when it was 50% off in the middle of season, then i got my price adjustment after couple of weeks when they have the 70% off, where else u can get at that price point at any local store with the price adjustment game, i really dont understand why ppl whining about it, sierra has the right to adjust the price anytime they want, Sierra is here to do business, if u asking for more than 70% off, why not ask for free instead then?

People coomplain all the time about the sales and this and that. What really bothers me is the people that complain about the giveaway. These guys are handing stuff out on a daily basis and dopping prices on everything all the time. Find another place that does half of what Sierra does.

I <3 Sierra no other site has a better community and really no one can beat Sierra's prices. So to the people that are complaining go and see if you can find a better deal and if you dont, know that the 70% off sale will come back just be patient.

People complain cuz they hesitate...just buy it cuz Sierra has great return policy...for the price, it's better to just keep everything!!!  We know that the prices are much better here than anywhere else!!

In retrospect, when Sierra had my gear off @ %30-40 I would have bought it. I got my board 50% and clothing @ 70%- those are unheard of deals outside Sierra's bubble. But I'm sick of hearing all this crap argument....both sides even

It's not like they didn't say that prices would be going up after the sale, either. I say, if you got what you wanted at a reasonable price, and used it, then it was worth it!

i appreciate sierra's sales and i never complained about missing the sale or anything. I was happy purchasin my bindings at 50%.
but i think the creator of this thread is an a$$hole. so people complain about missing a sale, how does that have anything to do with you? they whine about it, but that doesnt mean they don't appreciate sierra. some people are tight budgeted, so they hoped and waited for a bigger sale, which has nothing to do with being cheap. if you are generous, you wouldnt be looking for sale at all. if you are so generous, you wouldnt be on sierra.

I hardly see anyone complaining about it not being 80%. What a random ass rant. I'm sure some people were really hoping for it, but the vast majority of people here are glad it got to 70%.

And to the people who were actually waiting to buy until it got to 80%.. lol. Just f'd yourselves.

For those who are active and have been accumulating points, the the sale was actually higher than 70% off. In other words, an item that was 70% off could have been bought at 70-76% off.

I actually missed the "70% off" sale because I've been working late this whole week. I snooze, I lose! However, at 50% off, SS still has most of the best deals online.

In my opinion Sierra does it's customers a huge favor when they put on these sales. I don't know anywhere else where you can find 70% off a huge chunk of inventory (especially a pair of Union bindings).
