Currently anybody can win the daily giveaway at 3pm PST (Vancouver is in the same timezone.) The challenge for our NZ and Australian Customers is the extreme difference in time, since it is about 3am in Australia currently. |

Oh, I had another idea. If it's possible, could you display the time (PST) at the top of your site somewhere? I always forget the conversion.

Good question Sunfish! I thought you were stateside, but your are just asking if the US-located Siera members are eligible?
Can people in Peru, South America, enter?
Thank you for the PM on High Cascade, I will send you what I found out in PM.

The giveaway for me is normally 8am the next day (so its wednesday here), but i'm on the east coast of Australia, in some of the other states its at 6am or earlier i think, so they normally miss out unless they get up early.
I of course think an international giveaway is a lovely idea and will try to log in from work or my phone. The 6pm will mean that the States on the ealier timezone will experience the draw around 9am :) Mike.M I think in the last post you have gotten NZ and Aust times mixed up too. |

Yeh, its 7:32AM in Sydney, Australia. Im usually up at this time to catch the current giveaway. But having a giveaway at 6PM PST would be more suitable for Australian clients.
Thanks Sierra |

Are you telling me that international customers wern't eligible to win the original giveaway? Because I have been on it quite abit and have seen my name even go past.
FOr Australian time it currently hits me at 8am which isnt too bad, but I would much rather have it later at night. I always come back from uni/work and chill/browse on the computer. 6pm-7pm would be an ideal time in my book. |

great idea
though won't it require the staff member to quickly check if the winner has an international address? or are you going to have a username sorting system?

This is kind of cool, only question is does that means international people have 2 chances for a giveaway? Since they can do it both at the 3PM (PST/PDT) and 6PM (PST/PDT). So at the end of the day, doesn't it benefit people who live in the Americas (outside of the United States) than the people who live in Oceania.

Doesn't sound quite fair that the rest of the world can win in both giveaways, but the US can only win in one.

looks like those in the US are getting the short end of the stick...the internationals are eligible for the 3pm PST giveway, plus the 6pm PST one. also since there are less internationals logging on, they already have a higher change of winning for the 6pm PST giveway. i think everyone should be eligible for the same number of giveways...be it 1 or both.

how are they going to sort out who is international and who is not? and if they can't figure that out during the drawing, doesn't that mean that the draw gets wasted?

Lightning80, Gees buddy sounds like you pretty hard done by.....
Its not like i dont get up 2 hours early every day to NOT see my name come up on the spin...
Or pay 3 times as much to get a board as someone in the US...(not on sierra)
Sierra is a blessing its cheap sales reasonable shipping and you also get a chance to win something. We should all be greatfull that they give away anything for free , i havent seen many other sites doing the same. As for only other country's getting the giveaway. maybe have a look at the shipping difference , just for a start . You guys in the US have it pretty good.!

Most would have internet access at work unless they are a tradie,
but a lot of caompanies block certain webpages (such as facebook) especially if they have chat etc.. my work hasn't blocked Sierra yet though :) I have already gotten 3 people at work onto Sierra and will tell them to log in today :) |

that is a great move...
I am in Melbourne, most of the time I use my iPhone to login while getting to work in the morning with the 3pm give away with the 3pm (pst) is like 8am in the morning for the OZ, which I believe most people are heading to work or school. So the range between 5pm (pst) and 6pm (pst) would be a great for the Oz. btw, do you have to fully register your details eg address etc to be in the draw. KEEP it up the great work SIERRA. |
