Probe 4: La Rome Lo Fi Rocker, K2 EcoPop, Ride OMG y Burton Lipstick.

Wink

hey guys... i can't read spanish but I know some of you guys are from Argentina!

I'm planning on going in August and I want to know what is the best place to go.

From what I am reading on the internet the 3 most well known are
1. Las Lenas
2. Cerro Catedral
3. Cerro Castor

Which of those are the best for powder?  Tree runs?  Open bowls?  Is there any other resort you would recommend?  I am leaning towards Cerro Castor but am open to suggestions.

thanks.

For your first time in Argentina, I recommend:
* best powder and free riding Las Lenas
* Free riding, rides and trees Cerro Catedral,

second option

* smaller mountains with trees: Chapelco and Cerro Bayo (near Cerro Catedral)

* Trees in Cerro Castor and many days ice

the best month is August, without a doubt. Sometimes there is bad weather, with windy, but also heavy snow fall. The prices in August also are cheaper than in July.

I've been reading that the lifts are unreliable and close often.  What's your experience with the lifts?

In August, the lift may close for one or more days by high winds. You can watch the forecast and whether it is convenient to buy daily, half or weekly passes. In Bariloche have the option to travel from 1 to 3 hours by car and get to another ski resort with less wind. (Cerro Bayo, Chapelco)

That probably wouldn't be an option for me.  I guess it could be a park day...  the park is usually set up lower and I assume the lower lifts would be open even on a windy day?

In Bariloche the Park is located in a high and windy weather can not be reached. Las Lenas is lower. Anyway, can touch you 2 days a week or maybe none with this complication. It happens everywhere I think .-

It does happen everywhere.  Just reading that they close more often down there.
I guess it shouldn't be too bad.  I was in Chile and they also said the lifts closed a lot but it was ok.  Though we didn't get much wind or snow when I was there.
