My cover letter:

Doug I like getting drunk with you.  I like that you teach me cool new tricks in one run.  I suck at photography and video.  I couldn't take the job if you offered it to me.  However i am really fun to hang out with.  Please hire me.

This sounds awesome. I'm tempted to apply but I'm sure there's plenty of candidates much more qualified than myself.

Dear Doug,

I have no experience in whatever it is that you are looking to hire someone for.  I also suck at snowboarding, but I am a proffessional drinker.

Any video work that I may do would probably involve roofies and snowboard chicks, but I'm down to film if needed.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

Bruizza and Shaka,

You both are obviously hired as professional recreation consultants, but still looking for video interns.

You don't have to be a professional to apply just basic understanding of video, shooting and Final Cut editing.

There are many ways to get this intern to give college credit.  Any students can feel free to have their college program directors contact me about the internship program.

Time is closing in, but I want to get more applications before we make our final decisions on staff for Mt. Hood.

One of my buddies (he's a lurker here under Esco1782)  is sick at motion graphics, but the commitment would probably be an issue since he has a full time job. Maybe he can work remotely while he's at Hood Big smile. Here's a list of some of his videos (many of them related to snowboarding): http://vimeo.com/user453749/videos

Here's an old demo reel of his (damnit, it was working a minute ago):

Dangit Doug,

I want to do photography for you guys instead of videography.
So, reconsider a third position? Wink
I also offer parties in PDX as well. It gets you out of Govy and

trick wise no, but yes you need to be able to turn and negotiate the mountain very well.

When you film and snowboard, snowboarding needs to be second nature because you have to focus on the filming part

Dear Doug,

I may not be as qualified as some of these other guys, but I promise you I'm a very dedicated alcoholic and try not to let my snowboarding problem get in the way of partaking in the libations with the ladies.

Look forward to your response.

Seriously, to bad I've grown up and gotten a real job, young peoples jump on this, sounds like one of those opportunities you'll be telling your grandkids about.

Dear Doug,

I would like to apply for this position considering I will be out of a job May 31 and have absolutely nothing to do otherwise. However, I have no experience in filming and editing. Are these skills a must? If so, the only thing I can offer is leg humping and to learn video skills ASAP!

sounds like a really fun summer gig! Maybe in a couple years I'll be free for both coaching and videography :) Basic editing with Final Cut is pretty simple, anyone can do it if they watch a couple YouTube tutorial videos. Just need a beasty computer to handle the rendering. Good luck to all the applicants <-- jealous

The ideal candidate will already know there way around Final Cut and know basic aspects of Videography/Photography. This is a learning based intern position so you don't have to come with a mastery of skills, but you will have them when you leave.

Please everyone that is available during the time frame, June 15 - Aug 1, and interested in being an intern please apply.

This is the best place to be in the States as a snowboarder in the Summer time.

Be ready to be work and play hard during the time with us at Hood.

- ps - Both HCSC and Windell's are great and right next to each other on the hill at Timberline.
