first...there is no "best race"
blizzard is trying to keep the game balanced and from what i heard from beta players that is true. But ever since the original sc...i'm going zergs all the way.

zerg for sure is the only class i am playing right now, though i was disappointed when i found out that right before the beta, they removed the lurker Cry

Haven't played a game long enough to build any ultralisks yet, but i do question how good they are.

I love the human race.
For zerg, I always forgot to build overlords and stopped my population >,<

I am insanely excited for Starcraft 2. Funny thing is I sucked at SC1. But I'm getting a new laptop in June just so I can play it. My dell inspiron 6000 can't handle the awesomeness of SC2

And yes, there is no 'best' race. I've been reading lots of reports and the funny thing is... there were contradictory reports coming out of the American beta and the Korean beta. One said the zerg were overpowered and the other said they were underpowered... but this was a few months ago though. It really depends on the metagame of the opponents you are playing. ie - there is no best race

Been playing the Beta a lot. I like it but it feels like the same old Starcraft (not a bad thing) with some new graphics. Would have like to see more new game play elements.

Awesome. Hope my laptop can handle the game. I hate how any game that comes out is more advanced than my comp.

Got the beta a few weeks ago.  Only played Terran so far but definitely brings back memories of SC days...

In other words, the Koreans found a way to break Terrans and Protoss, and at the highest level of play zerg just aren't good. Similar to how newbies prefer Humans in Warcraft III; you wont see them at the world tournaments.

Guaranteed, the Korean's reports are the ones worth listening to.

Release date is around July 27th, I think. And I don't know if it's still there, but you could get a beta key by pre ordering at gamestop a couple weeks ago.

It does feel similar, but i think it feels alot faster than SC1. Alot more rushing, expansion, etc, you cant just chill and macro like in SC1, in SC2 it seems like you always have to be doing a bunch of stuff.

I got that gamestop thing, and it says it will ship the game on July 7, but who knows

Mate of mine was playing the beta when i dropped by the other day. I didn't know you needed a beta key though (kinda explains why he hasn't left his house since he got it though)... anyway it looks alot faster than i remember and the micro is more intense. Alot of your buildings have ad-ons or abilities to use aswel.
Gonna have to bust out the original and get some prac in.

Go terran!

Precisely...they're trying to create artificial demand for the game.

bestbuy had a promo that if you did a pre order you got 5 bucks in a giftcard, don't know if that's going on anymore.

Pretty pumped for the game and can't wait for it to come out. Haveyou been playing the beta Stryker?

Also pretty sure there is no need to make artificial demand for a game that will sell like crazy. I think it's estimate at 5 million copies within it's first year and 1 million within one month.

Custom games will be the best part.  There were so many awesome ones for starcraft I can't imagine how good they will be for starcraft 2.

my buddy is buying the game solely for this reason. I told him sc2 isn't that hard to learn, but he thinks otherwise.

My problem is that people are too good at starcraft.  I don't want to spend 40 hours a week playing a video game to stay competitive in multiplayer.

Well the new matching system is pretty good at dividing people and matching them by skill level. That being said, the AI is a lot better and more human-like. And then there's also the campaign mode.

SC2 is so freaking awesome. yes this is what the last person just said, but its right on the money.

It'll be occupying a big chunk of my free time until winter season comes along.

anyone know the price of SC2 release price in the states?

much appreciated if you kjnow

I've been playing the beta, pretty sick. But honestly, if anyone has played the latest command and conquer game, it looks like they took some scripts from that. But yeah its sc, I like toss.
