I had been wanting to get a nice pistol for my concealed weapons permit.  I went around for a while looking at different places and finally ran across this deal.  Its a 2 year old H&K USP .40 LE.  Paid $600 for it, which I don't think the guy who had it knew what he had.  It came with the tac light too.  You MW2 guys will appreciate this.

Nice Shaka, I'm bidding on a p7 right now.  I bought a tactical barrel for my USP cause I'm hoping to get a silencer here soon since my dad's company deals with so many weapon manufacturers I should  be able to get one fairly cheap.

I also have an AR-15, a SCAR-H and my dad has a Kalashnikov AK.  The company my dad works for makes several components for different manufacturers, so we get guns really cheap.  Last weekend we got an AUG to try out, im looking forward to shooting it

Cuz we can Season_Addict.  I'm going to guess you have never shot a gun for hobby and thus assume that we are all waiting for a zombie invasion or the first chance we get to pop a crackhead (neither of which are correct assumptions BTW)

Anyhow, we have had enough gun debates on here, let the guys who enjoy the sport have their fun.

Guns don't bring trouble, but some people who own guns do (most of the time illegally). There are MANY responsible gun owners out there, myself included.

Yeah, I can not WAIT to finish the build on my AR10.  I have Iron Ridge Arms upper and lower reciever with a magpul PRS etc.  I want GAP to finish the build on an 18 inch barrel etc, but they are back up to a 12 month wait time on AR's since they just got some huge government contract for them.

Kona, I will definitely hit you up regarding the 5.7.  Can you get deals on cases of ammo for it as well?

I don´t wanna start a heavy discussion on this...
But it´s just I don´t need to have any weapons, whatever type, around me.
Fun-time shooting?!
What about some "Gotcha"..dunno what you people call it..paintball maybe.

This is a total attitude-thing and how you were raised up.

I just feel sad thinking of weapons..nothing more =(

Peace..I´m out for partyin ;)

I haven't bothered getting any permits out here although I do miss shooting.

everything is so much more expensive out here

stupid cali laws and hoops to jump through make it all more expensive.  The ticket is to find some BLM land thats ok for shooting... otherwise its ranges.  Shooting makes snowboarding seem not so expensive.  Gotta love 22lr for plinking

My Opinions: I like guns, but don't want to onw one.  I believe it's our constitutional right to own firearms. It's fun to shoot things with live ammo. Shooting assault rifles are more fun than shooting sidearms. :-)

Facts:

1) You can rent guns from most shooting range.
2) 2006 stats based on the CDC:
  a) Total reported deaths: 2,426,264
  b) Death caused by firearms: 30,896
  c) Unintentional deaths caused by firearms: 642

Unintentional should be replaced by irresponsible.  With me I "clear" any gun that I hand to someone and any gun that is handed to me.  Also, growing up with guns I have been in several classes provided through DNR that teach gun safety but mostly from watching my family and how they treat guns.  And every gun comes with a manual that tells you how to clear a gun

In Cali, I was told by a Ranger that shooting firearms in National Forest is fine, as long as your are 150 yards (I think that was the distance) from homes or other establishments (and obviously shoot responsibly). You might have to look that one up to make sure though.

I prefer my guns in video game form.  Having a gun just means someone will steal it from you when they break into your house and you aren't there.  Then your gun gets used to to rob a liquer store and is thrown into a pond.

Season_Addict,

It's my understanding that firearms and private ownership of firearms has been greatly frowned upon in your country for a long time, so I can see why you're so opposed. Statistically the cities in the US with the strictest gun policies have a tendency to have the highest crime rates. I don't own any guns, but I don't frown upon people who choose to legally own firearms.

To say that you aren't interested in starting a heavy argument about firearms is outrageous after your initial comment.

I read the title of this thread and was pleasantly surprised to find a gun instead of a snowboard :p   No offense, I'm just sick of buying boards that are on sale ^_^  I'm currently in the process of starting up my Fireworks store again and so $$$ is becoming tight.

Fixed.

Sport shooting is more than someone swigging alcohol and then shooting at cans.
It takes alot of skill to shoot something off at 25 metres accurately. I know, I just did a comp with the USP a few hours ago after 3 months of not competing and I could barely put a hole in the target. =(

BTW, nice gun, I believe it was the one I was working this morning.

Kona, I believe there was a federal law passed last year allowing you to carry in National Parks now. It was an amendment added to the Credit Card fix bill. I don't remember the details of it though.

Totally thought this was thread about a new snowboard.  Nice surprise, Kona!

Reminds me that I gotta hit the range with my cousin who's an ex-cop/firearms instructor.  I have my FOID card but don't own.  The first handgun I ever shot was a Desert Eagle at a range in Vegas.  I saw how addicting it can be to go shooting at the range.  Kinda made me wish I took up pistol back in college.

For some reason, this quote of Storm Shadow from an old G.I. Joe episode popped in my head:

"Anyone can use a weapon, but a ninja is a weapon." LOL

No matter where you go, there you are.

Nice guns! Is it legal in all of the 50 states to have the tac light? I live in MN and I know that you can't use them when you're hunting, but I have never checked out whether they are legal for normal sidearms.
