all the places i've checked- sugar, beech, and even snowshoe- have almost no snow on the slopes

Cat may actually get real snow on Monday night and Tuesday morning but they are only predicting 1 - 3 inches.  I hope this makes the ground temps cool down tremendously so the blown snow sticks and we can start forming our bases!  Looks like Saturdays the day for me!

Anyone go to beech today?

Well...spent Sun/Mon (18 & 19 Dec) up at Beech.  Conditions were great on Sunday even though they were blowing snow like crazy.  Soft powder and few lines.  Monday on the other hand was horrible....in the low 50's and ice ice baby!

looked at temps over the next week for cat, snowmaking should happen every night. hopefully things will turn around with the new year.

I'm headed to cat in the next hour to ride.

I'm a fan of Beech, it's a little cheaper and less crowded.  The main drawback its a little small and currently has less open.  As far as condition, I was at Beech last week and the conditions were pretty good.  With the snow from this week I think anyone that you pick would be a good weekend of riding.

App's park set ups have been on point for the little they have been able to do. The jumps they built have been great for the amount of snow they have as well

I'm not sure where exactly we're going in NC, but we're making a trip down in early March.  Can anyone recommend worth while places to hit while we're down there?   I ride all mountain.  Like park, but love trees, steeps, and pow.  Anything have all those elements?

Nothing in SC, sorry...SC peeps come to NC to ride.

I figured.  Thanks guys.  I was so pumped when she told me NC cuz I knew there was something worth riding, now it looks like I'll be driving a ways to get to any snow down there.  Anyone know what the surf is like in March in SC?  I might just have to rent a board and give it a go.  If I travel I have to stand sideways at some point of the trip.  Snow, street, or surf.

Have you been to Cataloochee at all? They've been open since Halloween.

I was at Cataloochee today. The snow was great but they were doing that Can-U-Ski thing so it was crowded with tourists. By the end of the day when most of them had left it was great.

Ugh, this current weather in the QC area is really getting me down :/ Doesn't even look like Beech is officially open yet for the season.
