Combined buying power - are you interested.

Are you wanting to buy something just for yourself, but the shipping cost makes the purchase a little less inviting.

Yes for orders over $500 the shipping is free - but perhaps you are not wanting to spend $500.

Seeking interest of anyone who wants to join a syndicate to make purchases.

We will make the purchases and apply a 15% charge on the Sierra price - this will cover costs such as re-shipping when landed in Australia and exchange rate fees on credit cards. But if you come through own town to go to the snow - you can pick up and you will get the item at the exact cost at time of purchase (according to exchange rate). This will still be lowered than the purchase direct from any store in Australia. We are not doing this to make any huge profits, just enough to cover costs and a little bit of our time.

We place regular orders and maintain some stock as we live in a snow community we have many people chasing good priced gear and that is what Sierra supplies. Better than any other shop online.

If you are interested reply and add me as a friend.

We are a reputable and honest crew - contact us personnally and we will provide you with comfort to trust us as a middle man for your purchase.

The more points I get the faster I will get to the next level and then everyone benefits from the 20% discount. Sierra owe me about 1300 points at the moment. Some IT issues did not get the points through ... frustrating.

We would still ship to Victoria ... you would still be saving on what you can buy in OZ!

Shipping to VIC - average $20 on most items like bindings, boots, jackets etc.

All these would be included in the 15%.

Given that I get 10% off all items you are only really paying an extra 5%.

All transactions through ebay.

Think about ...

So what's the go if i want to redeem my tshirt coupon as a one off and get it sent to you guys? If i pay postage from Jindabyne or wherever you are, will that work out?  Otherwise i would probably lose it because i don't want to pay USD$50 shipping to get a free t-shirt.

My intent is not to take advantage as i'll likely order a couple of other one off's as my ability to pursuade the wife improves...  Big smile

Not sure how I would go redeeming your free t-shirt ... I am still wating for mine.

Could always ask the question I guess ... we'd be happy to ship - reckon it would be about $7.50.

I'll ask the question of Sierra ....

If you are unsure whether or not it is worth it - select an item you are interested in and see how much the shipping costs.

I guarantee a saving if you combine your purchase with us.

eg. $USD100 item say bindings - shipping = $USD70 total = $USD170

We asked for 15% to cover our costs = $15 and trust me that only just covers our costs

Only exception would be boards - read above flat rate $30-50 depending on state

One thing I left out ....

Exchange rate management - the exchange rate at the time of order would be applied to the purchase price.

I would advise you of the price and work out method of payment - preference would be to use PayPal

Then send the item to you registered post (except boards)

For those who are interested - watch your emails and this thread.

We will give 24 hours notice of a ending order so you have that time to get your wants, needs and wishes in.

Will be waiting and watching the exchange rate for a few days

Thanks to you all for the interest ... only here to help.

Yeah it is a good idea - especially with our declining dollar - we take all our purchases over the $500 mark to take advantage of free shipping. Still makes products much cheaper than anything in OZ. And if you are not brand fixated you will find what you need at Sierra.

Just remember all threaders - Wish list in by Friday.

interesting....so now how do yourcharges work?

sieera price + 10% + postage?

US$100 = US$110 + POSTAGE IN AUSTRALIA?

Or is it Sierra price less the 10% you get for being a ski bum then 10% PLUS POSTAGE?

US$100 - US$10 = sierra price you pay (US$90)

then to get it to me US$90+10% = US$99 PLUS POSTAGE IN AUSTRALIA?

Noticed your not a ski bum anymore either...so your sierra discount is now 15%, but thats ok. Great idea for my incidentals.

Slight change now ...

Pay Sierra full price on any item + postage. My discount will cover the other costs such as exchange rate fluctuation, credit card fees and handling of the item.

Payment preferred through Paypal.

We will be placing an order tomorrow evening - have your requests in by 6:00pm

Mark - I asked all these types of questions about coupons, gift cards etc. Apparently it cannot be done - you can only use your gift card when you are logged in. I do not think it is transferable - I could always try - I will soon find out.

Are you still going to run this syndicate even though you've got an ebay store to represent Sierra in Aus?

And yeah, i'd def be interested if I could use my giftcard in the purchase.

Of course we will run this syndicate ... our goal is not all abou profits - it is to keep you all interested in snowboarding and keep you coming to the mountains to keep resorts open and give them the opportunity to improve.

I will put the question (again) to Sierra about transferring gift cards ...

oh well, worth asking :) Wasn't sure - had seen people giving away their free tshirt coupons and figured that those would be using the same system as the gift card - and that buying a gift card for someone and only having it usable by you would be silly.

I'll send you a list of stuff adding up to around the gift card amount and see if you can use it, if not - no big deal i'll just order myself when i get some money (broken glasses + ambo trip to hospital has left me broke this month :( ).

Mate I am a small business owner and I have to say you had better have a good accountant cause you are creating an absolute taxation nightmare here. I would highly recommend you speak to your accountant before you open yourself up to an absolute ass reaming by the ATO not to mention the gst and import duties that you may find yourself having to pay once customs gets wind of how much you are importing.
I dont mean to be a killjoy but when I saw what you plan on doing it raised more than a few alarm bells.

Thanks for the advice - we are careful not to go to big and drawn attention. Have paid customs on a few orders. We are working within the guidelines provided by ASIC ...

I am all for people doing their own thing, but it is questionable when you use the thread we created to help other buyers to promtoe something for yourself.

If you let us know what you would like we will only charge you shipping to Sydney, or you can pick up from Jndabyne if you are coming through this way.

So tell me what you are chasing - I will give you a priced shipped to you - you can decide from their.

FFS dude dont act like you are doing this for the "good" of the community, with all the crap you sell on ebay you would be making good money from doing jack crap ordering boards on staff pick for $150 with free postage and selling them for $300 doesnt sit well with a lot of people. If you really were doing this for the good of the community you wouldnt care less that this guy wants to hook up with someone else in order to get free postage without your grubby hands getting in on it. Lay off the hard sell for a minute and take a look at yourself.

I think tank'd on snow can do whatever he wants. if he wants to make profits off sierra boards on ebay, he can. there's nothing stopping him. he's just profiting on people who are too lazy to do their research. or people who just want a board and cannot wait for the staff picks sale and can't fill up $500 in their cart for free shipping. besides, heaps of people were buying stuff off sierra (especially burton goods) and selling on aussie ebay earlier this year.
I agree with etm with the good of the community argument. it'd be for the best of the community if he just let people know about sierra instead of making profits off them.

He's probably also helping some other buyer out to get free shipping so...

EAD.
It takes a lot of time, effort, and energy to do everything this dude does. I guarantee you it's not the easiest thing to do, and it gets real stressful at times.

Who are you to say he shouldn't be making money when he's putting in the effort to run his business.

And it is rude that someone posts in this thread wanting to do the same thing as him. What if you had a classified ad, and I posted in it with the same exact item trying to sell it. I'm sure you'd be real agitated.

Go play on a freeway or something.

Dear Forum Readers,

Disappointed, not offended by the comments of "etm". Our mission is to get people into the right gear at the right prices. The creation of this thread was to assist people who did not have the means to take advantage of the great business model that Seirra offers - fortunately I can and willing to share that with others. In the beginning we were going to be making a small % profit to cover the time and effort to provide this service. However, as my relationship (and this is an official relationship) with Sierra has grown and my presence within the community escalated I have decided we will only cover costs of providing this service which include credit card fees, exchange rates and shipping of the items. No charge for re-packaging and the time taken to complete re-shipping. Also some people do not have credit cards and do not want to take the risk of an online, overseas purchase -we help them also.

Having another user within the thread try to do the same thing did concern me ... the courteous thing to do would have been to simply ask if we knew of anyone in Sydney looking to do the same thing or if we could come to some arrangement - and my initial response to this person was offering our assistance to help them get the items they wanted, nothing more

Our ebay business is really no business of anyone else, but to set the record straight. Our pricing on boards is based on Sierra RRP plus exchange rate conversion, fees, shipping and a small profit. All other pricing we try to make below any other price we find our ebay. We are a re-seller and we do not hide.

Lastly - if you have a beef with someones post try sending a PM before broadcasting any negative or potentially offensive comments in a thread - it is just not in the spirit of the community.

Thanks to the supporters ... your comments and feedback is always appreciated. If you come to Perisher I hope to meet up with you and for that matter any of the Sierra community memebers. Remeber OZ Sierra Crew days August 13-15 at Perisher.

PS I do direct many people to the Sierra website and also give them a kick start of 10% discount as provided by Sierra to me for introducing members

Thanks for the support - we might make a few dollars (and I mean $2-5) on some orders but we have to cover some small expensives and account for exchange rate fluctuations - sometimes the rate changes between purchase and when it charge the credit card. Drop me a line anytime, if there is anything you need.

Tank. Keep up the good work.

By having someone who is endorsed by sierra to help out, it seems that Tank would definitely be a more reputable middle man then others, and thus, make it easier for people wanting to buy sierra gear in Aus. I'm not saying the members of this community are shady, but not everyone can be trusted.

Wished I found out about this before I ordered by Reverse Camber. But luckily I got it on the staff pick days.

Guess i will have to wait until more bindings come in and place an order with u guys next year. :)

Certainly - we'll help you out ... and we'll keep working on working hard - when I am not riding of course and doing my normal day job - but always find time to help others out.

Rather you rode the good gear, progressed and ride safely then battle with the WRONG stuff.

We will be opening up our own website soon and moving from ebay ... investigating development of a possible method of allowing people to shop at Sierra then copy/add to a wish list on our site to allow a smoother Syndicate pruchase .... lookout

www.tankdonsnow.com is coming ...
