From VIC, but I have to say Perisher is my favourite after one long trip down to that side...

Buller is still my fav on the rare occasion of good snow, no crowds and good cover. Most other times its Falls Creek for me. Always a nice park setup.

yet to try NSW resorts though.

Favourite is Buller because its the closest and it feels like home since i've done most of my boarding there. Like you zhenjie I love falls for its park setup. esp the drovers park since im not game enough to hit the intermediate/advanced parks yet. good slopestyle style park.

Ditto, Buller for snow, Falls for park.

I just went to Falls last weekend.

A pity I hit a kangaroo on the way back and damaged the $#@%@^ out of my car. :(

there was one time last year. on the way home on that road that connects keiwa valley highway to the great alpine road. almost hit a pack of black cows that were roaming the roads at night. had to swerve and dodge them.

Ive been to Perisher and Smiggins Holes in Australia and Remarkables and Coronet in Queenstown, New Zealand.

I've got to say I enjoyed the Australian fields much more - but the nightlife in Queenstown is great!

I'll be living in Canberra next year (a bit closer than QLD) so I'll certainly check out Falls and Mt Buller as many people have told me to go there. Any nice places to stay at Falls & Buller?

I've ridden Buller, Falls Creek, Baw Baw and Hotham - although I was too young to remember what Baw Baw or Hotham were like really.

I like Falls because it frequently has good weather, great snow and nice runs. Also has a couple of parks which I enjoy. Only problem is how spread out the runs are across the mountain so it requires a bit of cross country to get from green/blue to blue/black.

Buller is better in that it's closer to me (3hrs vs 6hrs drive), the runs are easier to traverse between and there's enough runs I like to enjoy it overall. Only problem is it gets very busy over the weekends. Add to this there often being little good snow however, (or when it's 90% man-made - and icy) and you have a recipe for disaster; Bourke Street is like pinball.

I was up at Buller last week and it was bearable. So given Falls is higher, they've had more snow and it'll remain colder it will definitely be better. If the snow report is to be believed, where Buller has been ruined by crap weather last week - raining and warm - Falls should be great, with pretty deep man-made and natural snow: http://www.fallscreek.com.au/SnowReport

Wow, that's a lot of snow!  I think I'm going to plan a long snowboard trip to the land from down under one of this years since I'm too busy during my season to go often.
Sessions sucks hairy monkey balls, the end.

From what I hear its pretty shot in aus. Living here but never gone to a resort here. I opt to go to nz instead. Cheaper on long trips and better snow, from what I hear.
BUT I hear at perisher there are tree runs you can risk taking, which nz doesn't.

I was up at Buller the week of 22/7. It's been a roller-coaster of weather up there... After I left it rained a bit, then snowed, then rained the following week and now they're predicting 30cm over this week!

Can't believe we got fresh snow on 4 out of 5 days. Conditions were actually pretty good, except for the wind. Then it rained on the last day...

Perisher offers a large area in terms of terrain and exploring for the freeriders out there. There are a few parks located across the resort, some more difficult to get to than others - especially when you consider time to get to the top and time actually going down the park...not much value for certain parks.

Falls Creek is really good for parks, terrain isn't as big, but you have to catch it on a good day. The season this year didn't kick off till late July-early Aug. Night skiing isn't too bad either

Thredbo, supertrail and high noon are going to be your best trails...other than that, not much variety

Perisher: freeriding fun
Falls Creek: terrain park action
