I'll be doing as many day trips as I can to Buller, until I run out of money or gas or friends to go with except when I'm at Falls for a weekend

middle of july. the way i see it is that there should be at least some snow by then, even if its all pretty crap, at least the newbies will have something to learn on.

theres snow down at buller now. the guns are pumping it and even the lift chairs are covered in snow! lots of pics on the international thread.

hows the pricing to go to buller as opposed to falls creek?

Only snow at Buller is man made.  Looks like Hotham may have a light dusting but chairs are certainly not covered.  That picture is from NZ.

Pricing for falls vs buller is pretty much the same.

We only hope our chairlifts would look like that now but we only get to see something like this in July and not so much of it. If Buller looked like that picture, the runs would already be open.

Just seen they have 20cm for opening weekend, looking very tempting now.
Didn't look like they would have anything for the weekend.

Word of advice....  get your condition reports from the punters rather than resort management.  There are metric centimetres and then there are Buller centimetres.  From recent experience the ratio is about 1:4.

Good snow coverage for the first day but ground was showing in a few areas, good enough not to damage my brand new board though.

We tried to go up opening weekend - but couldn't get accommodation anywhere on mountain!!! - so we went to Hotham instead. Only Big D, Summit Trainer and Upper Playground were open... it was still awesome!

Dude, you need to make use of the interwebs.
Or at the very least read threads so it makes sense, or ask a coherent question.
