not really, not for me at least, i can do tantrums on a wakeboard so it kind of came natural to me, its more or less finding the right jump, just go make a small backcountry jump into some powder and try it

Here's a vid I just put together. Went to Tuckerman's Ravine in New Hampshire early May this year. Was my first attempt riding my Nativ board in steep backcountry terrain. Conditions were horrible, but whatever, we made the best of it. Hope you enjoy it:

First of all great video, but what kind of camera did you use and what did you have it strapped on? the perspective was great!

Don't wanna put words in his mouth, but it looked like he was using a GoPro with the helmet strap.

Sintexo had it right, I was a GoPro HD with the helmet mount. The part where I'm looking at the avalanche danger sign, I was using the chest mount.
Kellyboy, the hike was pretty steep, I need to use the board most of the way or else I would have slid right down. I slipped a few times and slid 10 or so feet down. I'd say between 35-40 degree slope. The more gnarly terrain was not advised to ride on due to really dangerous avalanches, those spots run closer to 45+ degrees, its pretty awsome!

I spent a week in Queenstown NZ in July, took a few videos and decided the other day instead of writing my resume I would procrastinate and edit together a video.
Video link: http://vimeo.com/14135885 I tried with youtube originally, but they muted my sound for copyright. Lame. I've left a lot in joke clips in there, so may seem a bit lame to an outsider. 2 snowboarders had never snowboarded before, the other 2 a couple of times and one of them a handful of times, so only a handful experience. It's only my second time using premier, so go easy! |

It is a bit long but it's entertaining. Great job on the editing. Personally I like how you have the guy walking/riding from one scene-frame to the next.

Fixed. Most full length films have long intros, such as pony tale where it's just 2-1/2 minutes of a guy with a horse mask doing random things not related to snowboarding. It's a lot better on the eyes than window movies maker flashing the title in the center of a black screen for 5 seconds. Also sick cliff hucks. |
