if your fantasy team's success hinges on a tight end, you've got bigger issues than just the tight end...

Crabtree's going to have a big season. Not saying he's going to lead the league, but look out.

Different strokes for different folks. Fantasy football still supports the NFL so overall its a good thing for the league. Although I will admit it sucks seeing people in the stands with a Broncos jersey on rooting for the opposing RB to score a touchdown.

I'd have to admit that fantasy football has made me watch more non-Cowboys games due to vested interest in players on my fantasy team.

I totally agree 80, I watch all football games I can now, where as before I would only watch Broncos games.

living in CT and being a Bucs fan it makes watching football a little more fun on Sundays. There are so many teams relatively close by that I almost never get to see the Bucs.

Fantasy Advice, if you're league scores 5+ points for TD's go QB with your first pick. That goes against everything all the experts say, but this advise is coming from someone who won 2 different leagues 2 years in a row by getting Brees in 08 and Rodgers in 09 with my first pick. It didn't hurt that I got Turner in 08 and Rice in 09 in the 4th rd. The experts are great to listen to when it comes to sleepers, but following a set "Select this type of player in this round" will kill you. |

Rams, atleast the Raiders may have a shot at winning that game.
You're just going to see them lose against the Colts.

So according to a betting site I was just on the Lions are 150 to 1 to win the Superbowl. I don't think they have a chance, but with Suh and Kyle VDB on the D line things may change for them. Just an interesting thought. Who do people have as sleepers for the SB this year?

completely agree, QBs are clutch in those leagues, they are really all that matters but then again thats why i hate those scoring systems, i have spent years getting near perfection for my scoring system, but there will always be still flaws somewhere

i usually pick up QBs first since there's a drastic difference in points from the premier QBs to the 2nd tier. RBs performances are usually not as consistant from year to year and there are usually a couple of RBs that come out of nowhere and score a bunch of points that you can pick up during the season. there are usually no surprise QBs like that. the only year that drafting a QB first did me in was the year that tom brady got injured...
by the way, the fantasy football thread is here |

I agree, it does kind of weight the system way too in favor of QB play. The league I was in last year gave 8 points for rushing QB TD's and 8 points for TE TD's. I had Rodgers and Gates, absolute beasts in that scoring system.
As for sleepers the Lions will be better and if they were in my crappy division they may have a better shot but GB and MN are too tough and pretty much guarantee 4 losses for them right there.
I think the Redskins could really surprise this year. I dont think I would expect them to make the playoffs but .500 is definately a possibility.
The 49ers have also built up a hell of a team and if those new O-Lineman produce and Crabtree is as good as he thinks he is they could be a beast.

I'm actually interested in the pre-season this year. It will be interesting to see how Teebow performs against backups, that should at least give an idea of how things could go this year.

The 49ers is looking pretty sharp for this season. I think it will be between the 49ers and SD for the west.
