hmm, i wonder if i flagged them like the bureaucrat ive become :)

I dont think i did, but id be tempted. Heres why:

The first review tells us youd seen it in a store and it looks way hot. Thats nice, but i see lots of products in a store that i think "that would look way hot on me!" only to find out they make me look like crap :) Basically, aesthetic info derived from not even seeing it on a human being is kinda... well, problematic. You may as well have written: "i just saw this on the web page and i think it looks awesome!" :)

Im not trying to dog at you, just alerting you to where and why it may have been flagged. With clothes i guess what people want to know is if the picture is representative of the item, if the size is what it says, how it looks on a human being (is it baggy, does it have an unexpected shape somewhere). Basically, because people cant actually try the item on, (and clothes really are a minefield), to write a good review you need to think about what YOU would want to know about an item if you had to buy it sight unseen. It pretty much goes for anything really. Incorporate that question into your reviews and youll never be flagged again.

As for the second one, same story really. The person that flagged it no doubt was tripped by your opening statement "my [insert random person in your life] has these..." That phrase is a red mark right away :) Its also nice that they cheer you up and all, but its not really suitable for selling the product. Again, much like clothes youre really looking at size of the item, durability (well done on that :)), the image depicting the item accurately, the design (again you nailed it) and just generally a good statement about how they function.

Obviously you dont have to check all those boxes, but im fairly certain that if you had have just written that you owned them, they were comfy, true to size and that the yellow is brighter than the pic and really cheery, chances are you wouoldnt have been flagged. You dont have to write a thesis on a pair of trainers, and you can condense it into a few words and still write great reviews at the end of the day.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your reviews! Truth be told im pretty bad at them myself :) But then again, i dont write them all that often :) Just picture that youre talking to a person who cant touch or try on the item and try and tell them why they should or shouldnt buy them :)

but does anyone review these after they've been marked? or will i have those 2 on my record forever?

because it seems like someone could go marking everyones videos for no reason.

yes they could theoretically, but it doesnt happen. Staff and expert members (the people who can flag it to get your review automatically pulled) want you to enjoy the community as much as the next guy. This community is better with you here than not here is the main assumption :) On the other hand non staff/expert members need to collectively flag your reviews before theyre pulled. Im sure its 5 'unhelpful' flags. Unless its genuinely unhelpful, its pretty unlikley youll get that. Hell, my sierrascope hasnt even had a single flag either way in 4 months and that review is AWESOME!!!

You can of course appeal about being flagged (when you hit the limit i believe, they probably dont want people asking them about every single instance for obvious reasons), and theyll review if it was warranted or not. If its deemed that it was warranted, you wont earn points for reviews. But you can still review i believe ;)

As i say, follow the advice above and the chances of you being flagged ever again are slight. Even asking for a critique shows youre wanting to genuinely contribute so chances are you wont ever need to petition anyone again about the matter. :) Keep the reviews positive and informative and you get the points, and everyone else gets the info. Thats pretty much what its about

PS. getting a couple of spam reviews on your account doesnt mean anything. It just means you lost (or rather didnt get) 6 poijnts at the end of the day. Its not some kind of stigma :)
