So, during the school year i made a pair of wooden skis in Woodshop class and they turned out great. The problem i have is that they aren't very waterproof and are too flexy. I thought it would be a good idea to put fiberglass on them to make them stiffer and more waterproof. If anyone has any expirience with fiberglass please tell me if this idea would work and how to do it. Thanks.

You might want to put something on the bottom of the wood too.

Do you mean something other than fiberglass and resin? I was thanking about putting some type of plastic on the bottom. Maybe the kind resorts use on boxes would work.

See how you are from CA, I would go into a surf shop and talk to them about it. It will be a bit of a drive but you can get the stuff too while you are down there. Or you can go to a boat shore and buy resin/ cloth too.
There was a guy building a snowboard and had a bunch of links on his page. I know you can buy base material and is probably the smartest way to do it.
