I've got my fingers crossed. I won't be heading up early tomorrow, I might head up in the morning once I've seen the latest reports and the webcam.
I probably won't be going next weekend though, it's always manic on the weekend after the school holidays. |

Only 2cm overnight, not even an inch!
Not even worth getting out of bed for. |

I'll be heading up this weekend to Tuora and give you guys the lowdown on the conditions.
I personally prefer Whakapapa terrain though but I'll take the +30cm until Whaka gets a better base!

Have fun up there, I hear it's pretty short on snow
I'll be up there next weekend doing "Master the Mountain", if the upper mountain is closed I'll be on the beginner slopes learning to board

I was up for this past week at both Tuora and Whakapapa and the weather was great. With the man made snow and the snow they push down from the upper mountain, there's definitely enough to have a good time. Snow conditions are decent on both mountains, however Whaka's coverage is quite a bit less. Rocks are still sticking out on the main trails at Whaka so you have to keep your eyes out that you don't gouge your base. All of Tuora's chairs are open except a few t-bars. Whaka's west chair lifts are closed due to lack of snow. Overall its worth going up now if you can get good weather for either side of the mountain. Keep in mind that the park areas for both are still not up and running.
