^^I can wait for the Ryder cup... Mainly because I'm pretty sure the US is going to get worked over... possibly worked over HARD!

"Captain Watson's" picks were a freekin joke.  Keegan can be good, but Webb and Hunter have had crap years, and do not look Ryder Cup worthy at all.

At least the Euro's have an aging Westy... but Poulter only plays well at the Ryder cup.

Damn, give me McIlroy, Rose, and Keymer... and you've got a win.
Add Stenson, Bjorn, and McDowell... and you've got a beat down in the making. Ouch

The only thing that could save the day is a Spieth/Walker pairing, and if female genitalia gets hot. And i mean Really hot.  Maybe Rickie can save old man Mickelson??

played at a dinky 9 hole course. The par 5 was around 360 yards. but I was happy to make an eagle on it. Although I do not count it as a legit eagle. The hole is just too short. easy to get it on on 2.

Played my first country club golf course at StoneTree in Novato.
It's super nice, but damn that track is super challenging and demanding.
Even though I shot a crappy score, I still felt good about my game. Crazy weird.

He is the favorite going into the PGA championship, even though 3.5:1 seems generous just because he won at a course that he basically owns.

Tiger is charging.  I knew he was going to win this, but still took the field against him.  Regretting that.

Hit 9 over on the front, but hit a 16 over on the back.

The last two rounds I played were very good up until around the 13th hole. After that I seem to break down and hit double pars. Maybe it's a matter of endurance, since I haven't exercised in years. (not even snowboarding...... yeah..... that sucks)

Played yesterday morning, shot an 84.  Should have been lower but missed a couple of 4-6 foot putts.

Finally played. It was around 93-95 degrees and humid.
Still played great for the first round of the year. Hit 13 over on the first 13 holes. Got heatstroke and ended up with a 99. Still fun!

What happened to Rory is, he lost his old work ethic, his life is way busier due to his huge contract and he isnt a young rising star that has to win to prove himself. My opinion, maybe his game really is just in a slump, but coming out of 2012 the way he did, the big change was the money and lifestyle, not the equipment. His clubs are 99% the same clubs, his swing has changed. Im glad Tiger is healthier, he looked good today

But more importantly: what the heck happened to Rory?? Shocked

I hear the conditions are great, so if his elbow is good (and it looks to be), he should be able to shoot up to his capabilities which will get him slowly climbing up that leaderboard.

Yeah, I usually shit a draw, sometimes a fade.  My shits are rarely straight, although it depends on what I eat and my fiber intake.

Looks like TPC River Highlands for the Traveler's Championship might be slighlty easier than Merion last weekend.

Tiger's going to be out the next few to rest his elbow.

Can't handle the northeast? Even par 70 in second round while the rest of the field went backwards. Only a few shots off the lead going into the weekend, anybody with 10 strokes right now has a chance, especially if one player gets hot and the field stays relatively flat.

I think his weekend performance proved my point.  Boy how I wish Phil would have pulled that off.  I've been routing for him to win an Open for a decade or more.

Your point was made after a great Friday round.  And I am failing to see how the region was solely responsible for his play this weekend.  I looked up his win record and most of his winds are in warmer climates, but most golf is played in warmer climates.  He won a US open at Bethpage.

Tiger has also won 3 Open Championships, 2 at the Old Course... not exactly known for warmth.

ah~ that is very true. I didn't think about that aspect. A par 3 course  you are getting a chance for a hole in one everytime.
Still, unless you play executive courses all the time, I think that an occasional game there would count. Except holes that you wouldn't see on a regular course. (44 yard)

On a good note, I can probably play that course during the weekends quite a lot now!

Let me throw this out there.  My friend got a hole in one on an "executive" course.  It was 44 yards. I know it's a 1 on the scorecard, but does it count as a hole-in-one, or does he have to do that on a real course to be able to say he's hit a hole-in-one.

Tough conundrum.

Well if it is not a big boy golf course then it is not a big boy hole in one...in other words if it is not an 18 hole golf course with basically 14 par 4s, 2 par 5s, and 2 par 3s or a slight variation from that it is hard to count it in my view.  One reason for this is that on a regular golf course you get on 2 chances for a hole in one, where as on an executive course you are hitting almost the same shot every swing which allows you to dial in the distance a lot easier...still hard to do regardless but doesn't really feel legit to me...but maybe I am being a hard ass.

I think that a hole in one on an executive course would count, only if the hole is at least 90 yards. 44 yards? Is that a par 2? That shouldn't count. More of a chip in. lol

I wondered if anyone has had that many second place finishes at the US open...answer is no...Mickelson now has the most.

Interestingly
Nicklaus has the most second place finishes with 19 (18 major titles)
Palmer 10 (7 major  titles)
Mickelson: (4 major titles)
Norman: 8 (2 major titles)
Snead: 8 (7 major  titles)
Watson: 8 (8 major  titles)

2nd place isn't bad, especially when the 1st place earns it.  But for some reason, it hurts every time you see Phil with a chance to win and then falling to 2nd.

Justin Rose... didn't see that one coming.

Ah well, 2 of my 3 horses in the race placed in the top 10 (Phil tied for second, Luke Donald tied for 8th).

I think he would need a bigger lead in order for it to qualify as an epic meltdown.

After watching Friday's highlights, Tiger made some mistakes and was still even.  He has some strong shots for most of it.  I think he might made a go on moving day and be back in it.

Tiger can't handle the northeast.  Never been good there.  I'm hoping for Phil to pull it out without some ridiculous epic meltdown like in the past.

Tiger isn't looking so good right now, but there is still time to come back and get it going. You never know when other players are gonna have a bad day

^ Yeah, I picked Lefty (-2), Luke Donald (E), and Adam Scott (+7).  Scott blew up today, 5 over.

^Apparently it isn't Tiger's for the taking, but I thought that since he was the only favorite in vegas.

Maybe they should pair him with sergio for the 3rd round.  They are currently at about the same score.

Adam Scott was my pick, but he isn't making the cut.

I want to see Tiger and Sergio paired up for a round.

Keep an eye on Luke Donald, Lefty and Adam Scott.
