I Can understand if you were hitting into them all day and they took it but once is not acceptable. Had a guy hit into our group 3x's straight while we were on the green, the last from about 175 yds out as we were walking off. Didn't say crap to us, so I pitched his ball about another 125 yds left of the fairway into some trees. Funny, he didn't say crap then either...

The golf course is a great place to get drunk. This mindset hinders my golf game a bit, but I don't ever get frustrated out there because I'm usually pretty sauced up on the back 9. |

I find a beer or two help to lubricate the swing. especially on the back nine when your muscles start to get pissed off and tighten up. There is def a bad side of it though. Friends of mine usually have a flask. Last on the hole, didn't drive it past the ladies tee, etc. and you have to take a swig. Things usually go south in a hurry if one person is having a bad day on the course. |

i stick to herb on the course.helps me slow down my tempo and make a good swing. i tend to slice it a lot, and when my backswing is slower, it keeps my downswing in line and eliminates my slice. its funny how i dont slice when i smoke. just makes for a good time as well.

uh.. good luck!
it was supposed to rain today, but looks great right now. hopefully I will be able to get 9 holes in after work today. so far the ppl that I have paired up with have been really good. today I will play instead of practicing.. (usually hit a few balls, cause I am the last person on the course and there is usually a group that has alot of beginners in front of me) |

I actually really like golf (I am not too shabby) but I have to admit my favorite part of golfing is just hanging out with my friends and our dads, it's just pretty awesome, oh and I love driving the golf cart 6_6
But yeah, I enjoy golf, haha everyone thinks I am so strange when I say I like golf, but I would have to say playing golf is WAY better than watching it. |

Does anybody else see the similarities between golf and snowboarding?
1 You have to pay every time you want go out 2 A season pass will cost you a pretty penny (unless you score a job on-site) 3 Bigger and better equipment comes out right after you buy brand new stuff 4 It's a seasonal sport unless you live in the rare spots where heaven and earth meet and you can play year-round 5 Professionals make it look easy but the average joe can enjoy it

I've always thought the conditions for golf and snowboarding were similar. It sucks having friends with all kinds of money that are always getting new gear when you're stuck using old, cheap gear.

Just took up golf again due to a knee injury keeping me away from "running sports"
Hooked again, played sunday, monday, wednesday and thursday and wednesday i played 27 holes the rest just 18. A lot of work needs to be done before I can go a full round without a club flying through the air in anger though. My damn slices need to be fixed asap... |

the players championship starts today (considered by players to be the "5th" major due to it's massive purse). i don't know why i find myself rooting for tiger but come on tiger...golf isn't the same without you playing well.

Tiger Woods just withdrew from the Players Championship after what is being described as an ‘ugly’ front 9, including a triple bogey on the 7th hole. He’s claiming a knee & Achilles injury for withdrawing. |

his knee (the left one) is still f--d up and probably always will be. i don't know...part of me thinks we've seen him win his last major. golf really misses him and his dominance though.

Yeah, I never liked Tiger as a person, but he was always exciting to watch and I'm sure golf rating will drop if he never gets dominant again.

Tiger is 35 yrs old...guys like Stricker, Mickelson and Singh did not hit their primes until 40...I think Tiger still has a lot of golf in him. Maybe a controlled swing could be very dangerous. |

What are your strategies for the links? I'm a grip-it-n-rip-it guy. I swing hard enough that my feet slip if I don't wear golf shoes. When I hook it, I know exactly what I do wrong... I didn't swing hard enough!

there is no such thing as a ball that can't slice, and good player can fade or draw a ball on command.

^ even if it doesn't eliminate the slice, it's supposed to reduce it by 75%. Thats enough for me to want to try it, legal or not. I'll never be on the tour anyway!

i hate people who suck AND walk the course instead of just taking a cart on a busy weekend. Get your head out of your ass, you are not on tour, so get in a cart and keep things reasonably speedy.

For me it doesn't even have to be Tiger, the PGA just needs SOMEBODY to step up and dominate like Tiger did for the last 10 years or so. It creates a polarizing figure for you to love or hate and either way you get more enjoyment from watching because there's more emotional investment. |

Wow. If a person wants to walk a course they are more than able to. What is it really going to speed up if it is a busy weekend anyways? Nothing. Instead they hit, speed to their ball in cart, and then sit there. You still have to wait for them either way. When the course is full walking is a great way to prevent sitting at your ball for 5-10 minutes for the people in front to clear. Most of the time by the time you reach your ball you are clear to hit. It's like saying i hate people who suck at snowboarding and are on the hill because it slows me down, especially those who wear stupid looking helmet covers that are furry but think they are awesome. shtooking weak. |

I crushed the ball yesterday. 315+ drives all day. Long ball and in the fairway 50%.
Crappy short game leads to crappy scores though. Drive for show, putt for dough.

Great for Toms.......and to the Op talking about walking, that is how the game was meant to be played, and all in under 4 hrs. Play in Ireland and see if they don't kick you off the course for slow play. Most of the time, people in carts drive like 20 ft from ball to ball...how about getting out of the cart and walking 50 yards sideways to your ball so two can hit right away.
Etiquette is killing this sport.
