Me and my gf are looking to get some summer riding in, we are both beginners and would love some help if any one knew of some good, fun summer boarding in either Cali or Oregon. We are coming down from Vancouver, getting in some surfing and MTB riding in on the way, thought we would do it all!

How are the conditions there. Are most of the trails open? I saw on the site that 2 lifts are open and the terrain park is "scheduled to operate". Im thinking of making a trip over for some early August boarding to get my summer fix. Is it really worth dropping 300+ dollars, or am I going to be stuck in slush on one trail with 40,000 other people.

What is this "snowboarding" everyone speaks of.

Terrain park opens up at 9 or shortly after.
4 good jumps and a handful of rails. Tickets are worth 54.
I was there this past weekend and had a blast.
I love snowboarding and doing it in July in the
sunshine is a awesome. Only time it gets crowded is for like
and hour when all the camp kids show up at 10. They crowd the two
public lifts until they disperse to the private parks.
It will be slush by 9. I get up there as early as possble to ride some
fast groomers.

This past weekend it was a ghost
town due to the camps being out.
I have been there 5 times this summer
and it was never so crowded I thought
''this sucks.''
You should go check it out. Its a trip riding
in the summer, above the treeline. It resembles
Mars up there.

I went to Mammoth about a month ago and there was still snow... The resort is definitely not open anymore, but there might still be some backcountry trails you can climb up and shred down. Some of my buddies and I did that for a few hours... pretty sick. You could probably bring a shovel and make a small kicker too.
Mt. Hood sounds sick though... When will their season be over? Or is it just always snowing? |
