    Posted: Aug/10/2010 at 7:21am
So I am looking for a new jacket but I have a really hard time finding stuff that fits my body type.
I am 6'4 195 pounds and my arms are very long.
From trying different jacket fits a XL slim fit jacket looks like a normal jacket on me and will have sleeves long enough to keep the snow away from going inside.

The problem is that looking for slim fit jackets has proven quite difficult.

I was wondering if you have any specific model recommendations for slim fit jackets.

try marmot stuff it's pretty expensive but they have longer arms, I have a medium soft shell and I'm 62 with some ape arms and the sleeves are def long enough. you might have better luck finding stuff that fits right from "non-snowboarding" brand.

Basically anything slim fit with wrist gaiters would be awesome. I got some insane ape arms myself. my sleeve measurement is 37 inches :(

Carebear, you need to re read the posts. I am tall and thin with long arms. loosing 30lbs is not going to shorten my arms.

The Burton Gore softshell fits a bit snuggish.  it's like 1.25 sizes smaller in the body than their usual size.

Look into some of the 'Ski Brands' (Columbia, HH, Spyder, Orage) they tend to fit a bit tighter.  I also have seen some stuff in 'Tall' I think it was from Arc'Teryx.

Airblaster. Jackets are slimmer than most in my opinion. They even make extralong cuts, on certain models. Checkem out.

First off, do you want a shell, or insulated jacket?

What they said.  Airblaster is the SHIZ.  I'm 6'6", 170 pounds.  Preaching to the choir with this one.  I wear a size Large in their stuff and it fits awesome.  Slim enough so I don't feel like I'm wearing a sail, and long enough so I don't look like I'm prep'd for a flood (pants) or ready to fight Russel Crowe (sleeves).

I am 6 ft, and wear a xl in one of Airblaster's labeled "long cut" jackets.
Large fits awesome for me two in any of the jackets.
And i have a medium air streetwear jacket.
Just depends on your preference.

a lot of brands have different cuts, and have slim fit models for their jackets, have a look around and try some on.

Thanks for the replies, I am checking out Airblaster ATM.

The dream jacket would be.
Slim fit Tall
wrist gaiters
removable pow skirt
removable hood
lightly insulated. (I ski in Wisconsin)
dark gray or black

extras:
lots of pockets.
recco
multi point adjustable hood

expected features:
taped seams
pit zips
media pocket
10k/5k minimum
waist gaiter that attaches to the pants

If there is a manufacturer out there reading this, you can totally rip up this set up and call it the DJmaya Jacket :D

Two things:

1.  You ski? = You shouldn't get Airblaster.

2.  You ski in Wisconsin. = You don't need Recco.

I think that was a brain fart. I don't ski. I only snowboard.
I have plans to go back country in CO this winter.

I think I am going to go with the Airblaster Grumpy Jacket.
Thanks for the help guys.

i know its a ski jacket, but i have a salomon jacket that fits me really nice, its a little slimmer, and its a sweet jacket. they have several jackets that list "slim fit" in the description. mine's 20k waterproof too, has light insulation, and i wear it with just a long sleeve t shirt even on the coldest days.
